Happy to share that my article co-authored with @jramongilgarcia is out @IPMJournal ! In our survey experiment, we find that citizens make more accurate decisions using an interactive information presentation (e.g, dropdown menus etc.).
Our RQ is "how do interactive presentations of performance information influence citizens’ decisions?" We examine to what extent they make accurate decisions when exposed to different presentation formats (interactive vs. static) in NYSDOH demo websites.
This article offers unique contributions: it (1) provides evidence on the importance of interactive information formats with high ecological validity & (2) analyzes the accuracy of citizen decisions as an outcome measure in contrast to attitudinal measures.
Another side note: This also potentially contributes to the admin burden literature by conveying evidence that interactive/user-friendly presentation formats help citizens to make better decisions when choosing their health care plans. @donmoyn
