8 tips for getting into Deep Work

Increase your productivity by over 82%

*THREAD*
1. Schedule your sessions.

On average, it takes 20-30 minutes to get into a flow state.

Take advantage of this and block out a 1-3 hour period in your calendar.

Build a routine around the same time everyday.

This will develop the habit and make it 10x easier.
2. Focus on one thing.

Each session should have 1 big goal.

Break that goal into smaller tasks.

Write it on a sticky note and keep it near you.

This will remind you what is important and what is noise.
3. Eliminate distractions.

• Put headphones in
• Turn on airplane mode
• Use apps like Freedom or Flora

Lower your input to raise your output.
4. Use a timer.

Knowing that you have a time constraint will make you work harder.

It also has the benefit of preventing you from constantly checking the time and interrupting your focus.
5. Listen to instrumental music.

A 2007 study from Stanford University has shown instrumental music to stimulate the brain and help with focus.

My favourite focus music is Hans Zimmer movie scores and Synthwave.

What went well? What didn't?

• Do you need to change the length of time?
• Do you work better at a different time of day?
• Do you need to work on certain tasks before others?

Always optimize for what suits you best.
@Psypreneur @ROGUEWEALTH 7. Reward yourself.

Do something enjoyable.

This will associate positive feelings with completion of the work.

Positive feelings = increased likelihood to repeat in the future.

It's no secret, a healthy body leads to a healthy mind.

• Eat healthy
• Exercise daily
• Stay hydrated
• Sleep 7-9 hours
@Psypreneur @ROGUEWEALTH To summarize the tips for getting into Deep Work:

1. Schedule your sessions
2. Focus on one thing
3. Eliminate distractions
4. Use a timer
5. Listen to instrumental music
6. Reflect after the session
7. Reward yourself
8. Live a healthy lifestyle

10 harsh truths "Nice People" need to hear.

Written by a recovering nice guy.

*Thread*
Never change your mind to please someone.

You may say you agree,

But your body and tone will do all the talking.

People will sense your inauthenticity.

They'll view you as weak.
Nice does not equal virtuous.

A lot of people are "Nice" because they don't have the power to be anything else.

True virtue is possessing the strength to kill but choosing to be kind.

21 life lessons travelling will teach you that textbooks never will.

For those of you thinking about buying that plane ticket.

(A thread)👇 ImageImageImageImage
We tell ourselves today that we'll live tomorrow.

One day we run out of tomorrows.

When I was 19 I was working 84 hour weeks in a career I hated.

It was good money for my age but unfulfilling.

I said fuck it and booked a plane ticket. Image
People who have never travelled love to tell you how dangerous it is.

They're trying to make themselves feel better for living a boring life.

Don't listen to them.

Do your own research and talk to travellers.

The biggest risk in life is not living. Image
