Heard that former politician Jagmohan passed away. His legacy will always be marred. He was accused of committing crimes against humanity in Kashmir in the early 90s, the worst phase for Kashmir till now. (1)
He was also in charge of a “beautification” drive in Old Delhi, which led to the disproportionate displacement of Muslims in Old Delhi. (2)
Find any old man near Turkmen Gate and ask them what comes to mind when they hear the name Jagmohan. The trauma exists to this day. I can’t even imagine what it’s like in Kashmir (3)
My fear for India is that many such Jagmohans have been given a free reign under the current regime. People with unbridled hatred and bigotry in positions of power. Who knows how long this trauma will last? (4)

The BJP is destroying the federal structure bit by bit so that Modi runs India by fiat. Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala - they will all be targeted.
Having said that, you have every right to call him out if you’re Kashmiri. That’s fair game.
Modi has already done irreparable damage to India with disasters like demonetization, assault on peaceful protesters, propping up Yogi Adityanath, encouraging vigilantes to lynch Muslims, getting us to the brink of war with Pakistan and crushing every dissenting voice.
I was in Western UP after last year's crackdown against anti CAA protests and here's a pattern I noticed -
Yogi's ecosystem targeted prosperous, upwardly mobile Muslims.

Shops belonging to Muslim business owners in Muzaffarnagar's Meenakshi Chowk were sealed without due process - some of those shop owners weren't even in town during the protests.
Hindu owned shops in Shiv Chowk were left untouched.

Residents of Muslim majority neighbourhoods in Muzaffarnagar reported cops entering their homes, vandalising their properties - these houses belonged to upstanding members of the community who are seen as role models by other middle class Muslims.
