In the past 48 hours, social media has been packed with pictures and videos of the post-poll violence in West Bengal.

More than 14 people have reportedly been killed and all the political parties have claimed that their cadres have been attacked.

While all the opposition parties claim that their cadres have been attacked by TMC workers, the BJP has unleashed a social media storm of misleading posts, unverifiable pictures and inflammatory rumours.

In March last year, the residents of Gampur village in Chhattisgarh dug a pit to make a “protective space” to preserve the body of 22 yo Badru Madvi.

@sukanyashantha Embalmed in salt, oil and various medicinal herbs, the villagers had unanimously decided to preserve Badru’s body.

Much of his remains have now decomposed, leaving behind just a weary skeleton wrapped in soiled clothes.

A little after 7 am, villagers heard a loud thud.

Badru was shot dead, just a few metres away from his home.

The SC has closed the suo motu case initiated after serious sexual harassment allegations were levelled against then CJI Ranjan Gogoi in 2019.

This despite the fact that Justice Nariman, who was on the bench that heard the case before, is still at the SC.

Gogoi is now a member of the Rajya Sabha.

His nomination was criticised because of the sexual harassment allegations against him, as well as because it was seen as ‘quid pro quo’ by the Narendra Modi govt for several pro-govt rulings during his time.
