I have just begun to dig into Judge Jackson's ruling re: the March 24, 2019 Memo on prosecuting Trump for obstruction. It looks very bad for Rod Rosenstein. I have always been ready to change opinions in light of evidence. This is evidence.
First, these are the most concerning facts re: Rod Rosenstein yet. The memo was partly authored by his deputy, and is signed off by him on it's way to Barr.
The Principal Associate Deputy AG Edward O'Callaghan that drafted this is a person you may recognize, and who I have long suggested people take a look at. I have always wondered why the Twitter hate machine did not even bother to ask who he was.
The implications of Mr. O'Callaghan being a dangerous political hack (or worse) are deeply worrying. Trump appointed him to head the DOJ's National Security Division in 2017. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_O%27Ca…
His prior claim to fame is as Sara Palin's "Truth" Squad, but he had NATSEC experience at SDNY.
And this also leads back to RR. At least according to the press - O'Callaghan was RR's hand-picked selection to handle the Russian Investigation. cnn.com/2018/04/03/pol…
This is damning.
With that out of the way, let's take a look at what Judge Jackson concludes about this memo: SHE VIEWS IT AS AN AFTER-THE-FACT COVER UP OF A DECISION BARR HAD ALREADY MADE. citizensforethics.org/wp-content/upl…
And she believes the authors KNEW it was an after the fact cover up of a decision Barr had already made. This paints the the authors and Barr in a terrible-to-criminal light, and puts RR dead smack in the middle of that.
This indicates that the RR, O'Callaghan, and the Office of Legal Counsel were ALL working together with Barr to craft the "no obstruction" narrative. This is a horrifying betrayal by DOJ leadership.
And when I say horrifying. I mean HORRIFYING.
And here it is - I am out of the RR fan club. It's over. THEY WERE ALL IN ON IT.
We now know that SC Mueller's push back against Barr's March 24, 2019 letter was PUSHING BACK AGAINST THE WHOLE OF THE DOJ'S LEADERSHIP. They were ALL in on the scam.
I am quite literally feeling sick and numb.
This is what I never wanted to believe - that the Deputy AG, the AG, and the Office of Legal Counsel would all conspire to depth charge Mueller. I feel sick.
I have been low-key frustrated with AG Garland's deliberate pace. I now understand that the issues are so much bigger than I imagined even in my most Dark Dirk moments.
I had always wondered how it came to be that Mueller's report actually conformed to what Trumpists had been saying for over a year - "No obstruction, no collusion." Now we know and it's even worse than I thought.
Please don't tag me with "I knew from the blank stare." Smart people don't know anything from blank stares ... see, poker.
For me personally, the depth of this betrayal is on par with the insurrection of January 6th. We are going to need a Special Counsel to investigate the entire DOJ leadership.
Among the things that most scare me is that the person that was the 2017 head of the DOJ National Security Division was ready and willing to commit crimes for Trump. That's fxed up.
I understand the "I told you so" takes, but this actually contradicts a lot of the twitter RR narrative. He was not a coward; not a puppet. He was the primary architect of the evil; he elevated the already compromised head of the NATSEC Div to help. And set the table for Barr.

In college, if we had a run in with the police, they made sure we got home without doing anything (else) too stupid. That model of policing should be true everywhere, not just among the privileged.
Sometimes, more serious intervention is needed - fine - but maybe .001% of those events need a firearm. Most need studious investigation - which guns don't help.
And then there's a whole 'nother category of intervention - mental health and addiction. Police are in no. way shape or form a good pick for first responders in that realm.

I'm going to take on a difficult topic. It may piss you off. It may offend you. But our ability to communicate with each other will be better if you read it, think about it, and if you think change is needed - don't attack me, advocate for better laws. Topic: Illegal Sex.
Some that read this will attack my privilege. Fine. My boy scout leader is on The List. My male English teacher kissed me on the mouth while we were doing drugs together. Another guy I knew-who was allegedly involved with said teacher-committed suicide shortly after.
But I'm as fine as anyone else. I'm also a lawyer, and a skeptic, and an easy mark for casual accusations ... and I feel that every day too. But Matt Gaetz has brought a lot of issues to the front, and we need a common language with which to talk about them.

The wife's in bed with vax shot #2, so ... ask me anything and/or song request hour. GO.
My own request. A song I'm working on now that @brendanbensongs was kind enought to lend an ear to. Making Enemies.
Twitter is ruthless with the time cut offs, so apologies that this cuts at 1M.

Re: Gaetz's: FL's age of consent is 18, but in MOST states the age of consent is 16 or 17. This is why the trafficking charge is so important, and probably why we have not heard allegations of rape (at least not yet). aspe.hhs.gov/report/statuto…).
Federal law on child trafficking, however, applies to anyone under 18, if they are recruited and meet this definition "commercial sex act means any sex act, on account of which anything of value is given to or received by any person."
This is why Gaetz's "giving gifts to girlfriends" defense is so entirely hollow. If there was a quid pro quo exchange, it's not a gift. Gaetz's and Greenberg's OPSEC was terrible and the 17 yo has reportedly testified ... so the feds know.

Dear @npr @cbs @ABC @NBCNews @CNN @MSNBC - Republicans WANT mass shootings, radical anti-gov militias, and murdered innocents. They have proven this over and over and over. It is inescapable. This is not a constitutional policy debate. They want blood and death and mayhem.
Take a deep breath. Calm your mind. THINK. Why do Rs want mass murders and mayhem? Why? The answer stares you in the face.

This is war. We must win on our superior values. We respect women, we love factual news, BUT WE CAN'T LET OUR VALUES BE WEAPONIZED TO DESTROY ALL WE HOLD DEAR. A thread. Please share.
Here's the thing. You can't make it as a Republican WITHOUT a sex scandal, because that party must OWN you. Boebert's husband exposed himself to a teen girl. Greene did whatever this is.... vanityfair.com/news/2021/02/m…
Trump - Putin and the mob own Trump and deliver him "wives"; Pence ... I mean he's a walking skeleton in the closet; Marco Rubio and "foam parties"; Gaetz and his "son"; Gym Jordan and his horrors ... you can't be a trusted R henchmen unless they own you by your scandals.
