In open letter to elected officials released to @wusa9 by @DCPoliceDept Officer Mike Fanone, severely injured by angry mob in #CapitolRiots, Fanone writes "The indifference shown to my colleagues and I is disgraceful." "The time to fully recognize these Officers actions is NOW!"
Fanone took this photo showing Commander Ramey Kyle in the tunnel commanding officers to “Hold the line” as @DCPoliceDept fought back the violent crowd. Fanone writes “It was one of the most inspirational moments of my entire life. Even as I write this it brings me to tears.”
Fanone says "I struggle daily with the emotional anxiety of having survived such a traumatic event but I also struggle with the anxiety of hearing those who continue to downplay the events of that day and those who would ignore them altogether with their lack of acknowledgement."
119 days after #CapitolRiots Fanone says sacrifices of @DCPoliceDept have not been properly recognized by DC Government. "I was beaten with fists, metal objects, stripped of my issued badge, radio and ammunition magazine and electrocuted numerous times with a Taser."

Trying to get #COVD19 test after learning a person who I had close contact with was in close contact with a person who tested positive. @_DCHealth Department told me I didn’t meet its standards for a test since my symptoms (cough, shortness of breath) aren’t severe enough @wusa9
So called my doc and they sent me to urgent care to get a test. Bizarre scene. Packed waiting room, everyone wearing masks along with staff. Already heard another woman arguing over not being given #coronavirus test because her symptoms not severe enough, will I get same answer?
Absolutely crazy that in the United States of America we have to fight tooth and nail to get tested for one of the most contagious viruses of all time in an effort to ensure we are not sick, or infecting others!
BREAKING: @DCpolicedept Sean Lojacono takes the stand in his own defense in appeal hearing to overturn department’s decision to fire him for improper and intrusive searches on DC residents. @wusa9
“I’m pretty disappointed about how things have gone because all I’ve ever tried to do was the right thing and now I’m being thrown to the wolves because of the way I was as trained,” Lojacono said.
“I don’t go out of my way to humiliate people. I understand that people perceive some of the things I’ve done as wrong, but I wasn’t trying to embarrass anybody.”
