It’s definitely late. I hope not “too late.” But I have to admit, I don’t see how the GOP escapes from the black hole that is Trump. Trump exposed that the Republican Party is fine with treason, fascism, insurrection, child rape, and so much more (including budget busting). 1/
For the past 30 years since I left the GOP, I’ve disagreed with them a lot. But I never actually thought they were traitors. I never thought they’d willingly hand over our national security to the Russians. And the North Koreans. This is just nuts what they’ve become. 2/
Trump hasn’t changed the party, he’s exposed a corrupt fascist-loving core to the GOP soul that will accept any policy proposal - right or left, illegal or immoral - so long as it comes from a strongman. And I don’t know how you put that genie back in the bottle.
3/
Even were Trump to die and go away, he exposed something very ugly in the GOP. Future leaders have learned the lesson that fascism works. How do you unteach that, how do you purge that, from the body politic?

1/ I’ve been trying to get my 91 y.o. mother in Illinois vaccinated, and it’s been an absolute disaster. The state chose to decentralize the process — there are at least 4 different Web sites you can use to schedule appointments, and none of them have vaccines, ever. @GovPritzker
2/ The National Guard is also giving vaccines, in just a few counties - but not moms! - and the state of Illinois @IDPH has yet another Web site where you can register to get vaccines, but only if you live in one of six or so incredibly-rural town in the middle of nowhere.
3/ What’s worse: They never tell you when the next allotment of vaccines are coming, so what are you supposed to do — check the Web site every minute of every day, hoping that maybe you’ll be online during the sparse few minutes that appointments are available?
1/ So I was doing a little reading and writing about QAnon-friendly freshman GOP Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene today, and as loopy as I knew she was, what I read today was far worse than I ever imagined. Let me summarize:
2/ In a 2017 video posted to Facebook, Greene expressed doubt that the perpetrator of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, a large-scale incident she believes was intended as an attack on the right to bear arms, acted alone.
3/ Greene believes the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand were a "false flag" for the same end as the "false flag" Las Vegas mass shooting.
Why is Peter Navarro still a prof at @UCIrvine after the horrific comments he made today, claiming Trump won the election, accusing Dems in Congress of "violence," and warning ominously of what Trump supporters would do next? @UCIrvine_MBA@DeanRameen@IanOWilliamson@JohnAPerez
I've got video & the transcript of Trump trade adviser, and UC-Irvine professor, Peter Navarro's horrific comments on Fox News today here - one week after the coup attempt - and I also include additional contact information for the folks at UC-Irvine. 2/ cyberdisobedience.substack.com/p/navarro-univ…
PS Navarro's comments today about Chinese tech workers in the US were particularly bizarre, claiming they have an expertise in "censorship." One assumes UC-Irvine's 3,000 Chinese students might have an opinion on that stereotype coming from one of their professors. 3/
When Obama came in to the White House, Democrats, for the most part, stopped talking about George Bush. That permitted Republicans to blame the mess Bush left on Obama. We must keep reminding voters of the alternative, of what was, and could have still been.
In contrast, look at what Trump did. From day one he blamed everything on Obama. He lied about the economy he inherited, claimed growth was stagnant, when in fact the economy grew more under Obama than it did trump.
Trump lied about the stock market he inherited, claiming it grew so much better under Trump, when in fact it grew more under Obama. Jobs? More under Obama. (In fact, America has lost jobs under Trump.)

Amazon, Amex, Delta, GM, Google, Home Depot, Merck, Visa, & the NFL are among the groups that financially-supported the election of 120 Electoral College coup supporters in Congress.
165 American companies helped elect 82% of the coup-supporting members of Congress. 1/
The Majority Committee PAC is a congressional leadership PAC associated with US House Republican minority leader Kevin McCarthy, who himself objected to the Electoral Vote count. The PAC supports the election of Republican House members. 165 companies donated to this PAC. 2/
Among the House members this PAC helped elect: Andy Biggs & Paul Gosar, two of three US House members who have been accused by “Stop the Steal” organizers of helping them plan the January 6th “march” on the Capitol. Also: Lauren Boebert, Louis Gohmert, Jim Jordan, Lee Zeldin. 3/
