1/3 We’ve left the world’s largest vaccine manufacturing effort to a FEW companies putting all of our eggs in one monopoly basket. Business as usual model has failed to vaccinate the world & bore VOCs- its time to use ALL global production power to end the Pandemic @POTUS agrees!
2/3 We are risking reinfection loops as VOC import threat rises w/ ⬆️global cases. Trickle down vaccine donations does NOT build LMIC self-reliance for production. Leaders have made empty promises while eyeing 💉supply for 3rd doses & jabbing teens before reaching COVID hot spots
3/3Same old TPs since 1990s AIDS crisis used by Gates & Lobbyists re R&D/incentives. Let’s be clear that lean,agile, biotech comp & academics are the real innovators here backed by publicly funded grants. Innovators still reap rewards via royalties w/ #TRIPSwaiver @NickClarkAlJaz
