The @Senate_KE has set in motion the trial of Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud who the country assembly impeached, despite a High Court order barring the proceedings.
Via/Daily Nation
On Wednesday, Justice Edward Muriithi had stopped the Senate from debating the motion of removal from office of Mr Mohamud until a case challenging the impeachment is heard and determined.
The judge also ordered the petitioners to serve the House and @SpeakerKLusaka copies of the suit and directing the parties to appear before him on May 20.
My view and my view now is that unlike what Sen. Linturi has said, if the plenary decides it's a committee, both sides will sit and pick the names as opposed to the whips going to sit in a corner. - @SenMutula#BungeLiveSEN
We've done plenary committees here and I sit here during the last one and there were heaps and heaps of paper here. I can bet, most of you never opened even one file. - @SenMutula#BungeLiveSEN
Every accused person wants to feel innocent. We must make every accused person feel innocent. The only problem about committees, because I want to disclose these things, is that if a committee acquits they don't bring the committee report for a vote. - @SenMutula#BungeLiveSEN
Communication from the chair on the proposed removal from office by impeachment of Hon. Mohamed Abdi Mohamud, Governor of Wajir County. #BungeLiveSEN
I hereby proceed to read the charges against the governor: 1. Gross violation of the Constitution, County Governments Act, 2012, the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015, and the Public Finance Management Act, 2012. - @SpeakerKLusaka#BungeLiveSEN
a) Failure to account for the financial resources allocated to the county in disregard to Article 201(a), 183(3) of the Constitution and Sections 149 and 166 of the PFM Act. -@SpeakerKLusaka#BungeLiveSEN
I think this is a very democratic process for us to make that decision. Finally, I want to say that in my many years in Parliament, I would encourage that each Senator has got their own self worth. - @orengo_james#BungeLiveSEN
When we sit or camp before the Senate as a parliamentarian, you have your own self worth. And me, I can never be intimidated in my political life. Because I've seen many people come and go. I've seen many powerful people come and go. - @orengo_james#BungeLiveSEN
I have seen presidents come here and go. I have seen people who on their word, you'd leave this house and be locked in the same day, they've come and gone. - @orengo_james#BungeLiveSEN

Hon. Ichungwa Kimani, MP.Kikuyu: This BBI process is a culmination of the Handshake and the BBI Taskforce work..this document to me is a poison chalice anchored on Treasury, and loaded with deception... #BungeLiveNA
..it's indeed a popular initiative by the political class in this country for the benefit and interest for only the political class. #BungeLiveNA
We're deceiving ourselves and deceiving the country..if the base of our CDF is not changing with 36 Billion divided by 290 constituencies.. #BungeLiveNA
