💩Did you know water companies are still given permits to dump raw sewage in our rivers?
💩Did you know water companies often break the permit rules and dump raw sewage, even though that is illegal?
💩Did you know it’s getting worse - 400,000 more raw sewage releases in 2020 than in 2019, with more than 3 million hours of discharges?
Is this acceptable - especially when we, as customers, pay for our sewage to be treated?
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO Write to your local Water Company to complain (suggestions below), or to the Environment Agency, who are supposed to protect our rivers, but fail to prosecute the water companies.
Email addresses-
Thames Water (water company) - customer.feedback@thameswater.co.uk
The Environment Agency enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk
You can copy this text, or send your own thoughts -
To the Water Company - “ It’s the 21st Century, you should not be dumping raw sewage into our rivers. Clean up your act!”
To the Environment Agency - “Why are you not protecting our rivers from raw sewage being dumped by Water Companies? They clearly breach the terms of their permits, yet you do not prosecute them. It’s the 21st Century, there should not be raw sewage going into our rivers!”
