NCSL & NUFC Anti-Corruption ... Takeover Thread 🧵
1/ From the outset, let’s make it clear that this is a POSITIVE for the takeover. The club have absorbed the NCSL case and can take that forward with a bottomless pit of funds and the best legal team money can buy. There’s no way this is a negative move!
2/ first and foremost - the fact that a FAN LED battle has teamed up with the football club clearly highlights there’s real public interest here. This goes beyond a takeover too and concerns itself with the conduct of the PL (fan-led reviews of PL are a very current topic💡...)
3/ For MA to take an NUFC fan seriously means NCSL must have some pretty damning evidence. NCSL’s evidence alone is reported to be enough to bring the PL to their knees. Throw in the evidence NUFC have been gathering for 9 months and you’re looking at a mountain of solid proof.
3.5/ (as a side note, a top qualified TEAM of QC’s will not take on a case that doesn’t have legs. Yes, this is a huge case and it can seem daunting ... but surely the evidence speaks volumes to be progressed this far with absolute confidence).
4/ Staveley knew the best way to bring Anti-Competition to light was to make sure this is firmly in the public interest. She put out the rallying call for fans to stand up and gave us the tools to unearth the corruption. Project Big Picture and the ESL have underlined that.
5/ And so now is the perfect time to bring this action. The ESL has massively changed the landscape and fan eyes are open to the collusion and corruption throughout the UK now - it’s there in black and white. It’s been international news.
6/ With that, there’s a tonne of question marks being fired at Hoffman and Masters outside of the NUFC camp. Karen Brady didn’t hold back in her assessment and you can assume that other high profile directors are also incensed. The scrutiny has never been more intense.
7/ (back to NUFC) ... Ashley has played his hand perfectly here. His wording of “dark forces” and the fact he publicly calls out the the PL as having not safeguarded its clubs is very clever and relevant. Fans and clubs throughout the UK all feel this way at the moment.
8/ and so suddenly it’s less “poor NUFC” and more “hang on ... the ‘other 14’ are being capped and we’re not allowed to be competitive. We’re being stopped and the NUFC Takeover is a clear and obvious example of this”. Our circumstances are now very relevant in the larger picture
9/ Yes, MA is going for damages. But we all know MA and he’s completely money focussed and has every right to hit the PL in their pockets. What’s more important is 2). “The Injunction” to change the PL stance on the takeover. He wants this remedied in court. He’s wants everything
10/ Our biggest positive? The PL aren’t in control of this. They can’t delay and they can’t hide and obscure anything at all. The silence we’ve had for months has been GOLDEN. The club have meticulously lined up and cross examined their own evidence to be watertight.
10.5/ The PL haven’t seen this coming. They’ve been so focussed on arbitration and the rest of their circus that this case will come at them faster than they can handle. And this is a BIG one. They’ll have to rebut all evidence put to them beyond reasonable doubt. That’s mammoth.
11/ The PL have so much to lose here. This goes beyond a takeover and could unearth some serious PL misconduct with jobs, reputation and power all at risk.
12/ Most likely, the PL will be squirming and will do everything in their power to avoid court. Why? They don’t want anything coming out. That’s been a theme from the start. They’re desperate to keep everything confidential and under wraps. Outside of court settlement? ..Likely.
13/ Add to the fact that Man City have just brought legal action and there’s massive pressure from the Government and probably FIFA/UEFA re: the ESL and you’re looking at the perfect storm. The constant throughout? Masters and Hoffman.
14/ It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a lot of internal and external pressure for some resignations on their behalf. Cut off the head of the snake and you can grow something different. This is a huge power play from MA and I see a takeover on the horizon.

Another #NUFCTakeover Thread 🧵 In Light of Recent Events 🇸🇦⚽️ strap yourselves in for this one ...
1/ First thing’s first. @ADMusgrove and the @ChronicleNUFC have fought for SIX MONTHS to have this information made public. Let’s state the obvious .. somebody, somewhere was desperately fighting back for this not to come to light. We can only assume who that was 🙄
2/ Newcastle fans - through the NUST - have been made a mockery of by the PL. Richard Masters has bare-faced lied to this fanbase and the following extracts will prove this beyond unfounded claims.

1/ The High Court ruling on NUFCs arbitration objections is not a loss at all. To suggest the club are 2-0 down is just media sensationalism. In reality, the club and their legal team raised this objection knowing fine well it was a win-win situation and here’s why ...
2/ Option 1 was the objection is upheld and NUFC push through a change in arbitration chair to somebody less ‘bias’. Obvious win. HOWEVER, and this is an important point, it can be argued that not having the chair overturned was actually their biggest win.
3/ Knowing fine-well that as standard all judgements are publicly available (unless in the public interest to be kept confidential) NUFC and the legal team have forced scrutiny and pressure not only from the public but also from the judiciary and those involved in arbitration
