Nova Scotia: public health may be a little longer getting in touch with people for the next few days. They are really and truly doing an amazing job but there is some trouble getting everything done quickly right now.
As Nova Scotians, we can help them and each other get this COVID-21 controlled.
Please don’t get frustrated, upset or angry. (Well, you can, it’s been a long year) BUT here are some ways to take control and be proactive!!
We NEED you NOW Nova Scotia!
1. If you have symptoms, don’t wait, not even a day! Get tested at a Nova Scotia Health authority testing site (NOT a pop up site!!). You are NOT putting a strain on the system. You are doing the right thing.
2. If you have symptoms, get tested, then stay home and please please please isolate. I know it’s hard.....but assume it’s COVID unless your test says otherwise.
3. If you know are in contact with someone with COVID within the last week or so, (esp for a longer period of time, without a mask, inside), get tested! Don’t wait for someone to tell you to go. Just get tested! Preferably at a regular site but if not possible a pop up to start.
4. You may not know you’ve been in contact with a COVID positive person. Stop finding reasons to not get tested (things I hear: I don’t see many people; it’s inconvenient; it’s uncomfortable; I’m vaccinated). Just do it. GET WEEKLY NO SYMPTOM COIVD TESTS.
Positive and haven’t gotten a call? Don’t panic! A team of medical folks will reach out to check on you.
We have the power to control this, Nova Scotia.
Don’t go shopping. Don’t socialize with that ‘close’ but non-household bubble that lives in your neighborhood. Don’t go to the office if you don’t have to (yes, I know YOUR office is safe, 3 people, masks etc. but please don’t do it for the next 2 weeks). GET TESTED REGULARLY.
Knowledge is power. TOGETHER, staying home and testing (because you don’t know what virus you’ve run into in the last 2 weeks) mean you KNOW YOUR STATUS.
See you at the testing sites. And I hope NOT in the parking lot of Costco. We can do better.
