I have a 3 part question about House Roaringhorn in Waterdeep as of 1492 DR. Aside from Lord Zelraun, are there any other notable members of the House? What is the state of their interests and affairs? Who are their closest allies and enemies?
1) A lot of NDAs remain in force, I fear, as the Roaringhorns are busy, important folk with their ring-adorned fingers in a lot of pies.
So, aside from Lord Zelraun, notable Roaringhorns based in Waterdeep as of 1492 DR include: #Realmslore
2) Tassembra, a sometime adventurer and Lord Zelraun’s favourite daughter. She’s a free-spirited maverick with a high public profile, lots of lovers, and great personal wealth, all invested in urban properties up and down the… #Realmslore

Yathanthra, the quiet daughter, who has adopted the wardrobe, dignified mannerisms, and seclusion of her namesake, a favorite, now-dead aunt. She’s notable because she recently revealed… #Realmslore

7) …Athkatla, and Scornubel.
Eltarr Roaringhorn has purchased a Waterdhavian home and is spending less and less time in Neverwinter, as the inventors and crafters he’s increasingly interested in sponsoring and working with are… #Realmslore
8) …based in the City of Splendors. Notable innovations so far: scissor-springs for wagons and coaches, that ‘bounce’ and so cushion the ride for passengers and cargo; VERY popular and starting to get copied more and more widely. #Realmslore
9) Eltarr’s always interested in new ideas, new trends, new fashions and vintages and items.
Roglaer Roaringhorn, called “Old Uncle” by the family and increasingly by everyone else. A retired adventurer and winking rake who sports… #Realmslore

12) Randarl Roaringhorn, the grandson of the Randarl who married Loene of the Company of Crazed Venturers more than a century ago. This Randarl is handsome, agile, well-spoken, dagger, and wealthy, having inherited much of… #Realmslore

1) The woman who bore Victoro Casslanter went by the name “Lady Mask,” when in Waterdhavian clubs in the 1370s DR, where she fascinated Caladorn. She was a moon elf sorceress who never had any intention of marrying anyone or becoming… #Realmslore

1) As the soldiers charge, Wolf calmly triggers one of his rings. Blue-white lightning leaps from it to strike the foremost charging man, then plays all over that armour—ere bolts snap and snarl on to the other armours. #epicfantasy
2) Suddenly, the reek of scorched hair wrestles with the smell and sizzle of roasting bacon. One man, at the back, manages an “Aieee” before he falls on his face.
“NO looting,” Wolf snaps, as the King starts for the nearest… #epicfantasy
3) …body. “No time.”
The King turns and looks at Wolf, incredulity warring with cold scorn. “Did you just presume to give a command to your KING?”
“Well, wouldn’t THAT be a waste of time? No, Elvar, that was a firm suggestion.” #epicfantasy
1) “Ha ha. The PEOPLE.”
“Ah. No, Lord, but then, I’ve never been this high up in this wing before. The Palace is befittingly large.”
“How many staff are supposed to be up there?” the King asks Wolf. #epicfantasy
2) “No living quarters, so just duty staff, though no duty roster right now, thanks to the invasion and lack of ready pay, let alone supervision. Duty strength for the floors above us, one shift, is forty-seven.” #epicfantasy
3) “Real count? Or Palace Purse strength?”
“Real. I handle Security as well as the Treasury, Sire.”
“I’m aware. As are my coffers. You didn’t think I knew there are two counts, did you?” #epicfantasy
1) Then the King breaks off frowning to stare open-mouthed at the roofless passage, the heaped rubble of destruction—and then wildly all around. “Where’s Palonder?”
“On a mission,” Wolf says soothingly. #epicfantasy
2) The King frowns. “You’ve lost him, haven’t you? He’s lying dead under all that, isn’t he?”
“No, Elvar, he’s NOT—”
“He is! You ALMOST kill me, would have if not for the SELFLESS protective shielding of this lady courtier… #epicfantasy

“Elvar, HUSH! We just UNAVOIDABLY made a great deal of noise, and soldiers of realms who’ve invaded us are still EVERYWHERE around us… #epicfantasy
1) Palonder nods and sets to work. The King’s stomach promptly growls. Loudly.
“Meals for us all, soonest,” Wolf says briskly, and the King closes his mouth on the demand he was going to make. And then peers all around. #epicfantasy
2) “I don’t remember this part of the Palace at ALL,” he says dubiously. “Why is that, Wolf?”
“You’re sober, Elvar. You never staggered in this direction, I recall, until revels were done and dawn was peeking through… #epicfantasy

“Oh, gods spew, MUST you wax poetic?”
“Courtier, Sire, remember?”
“I’m seldom given a chance to forget, these days.”
“That’s because we so attentively attend you.”
“Behold, my royal gratitude shineth.” #epicfantasy
1) This gets asked a lot, but here we go again. ;}
The answer is always: it depends. Here’s why: literally thousands of sentient beings in the Realms have a ‘wild talent’ for some aspect of magic, due to the world being a-crawl… #Realmslore
2) …with magic (wielders of the Art using it, drawing on the Weave), and everyone born into the world being exposed to flows of magic. Over time, growing numbers of sentient beings are born with the Gift (ability to wield the… #Realmslore
3) …Art). Most don’t know it, and are utterly untrained, and stay that way lifelong. Say, 1 in 9,000. A rarer few (1 in 12,000) may or may not manifest a ‘wild talent’ that lets them work magical effects without casting or… #Realmslore
