We run a Teleconsultation Helpline (9971736222) which is free and 24 by 7. Since I have led this initiative many patients think it's my number and want to speak with me by calling this. Fortunately, my call Operators do a good job. But sometimes some insist on speaking to me only
One such incidence. A dentists mother -83 y, covid Positive, severe Disease, from Gujarat, unable to find a Hosp bed and on home oxygenation. He saw my Video and called up Helpline. He was taking Consultation from many doctors locally. Our young doc did a wonderful jod advising.
Also, the case was referred to a Consultant in UK who spoke to family and counseled and advised. They were giving too much high generation antibiotics. Instead, proper treatment was advised. But the dentist wanted to speak to me only. Atleast once.
He called our helpline again and again to talk to me though team told him that I do not direct consultations. He persisted. I gave up and called him. We spoke for 40 min. He wanted reassurance that the advice of Indian and UK doc was right. That he did right for his mom
He explained how difficult has been these 15 days for him. They almost lost their mother. Had to be treated at home because no ICU beds or treatment very expensive. I tried my best to counsel him though I am not an internal medicine expert. He felt so much better after that call
Sharing this to show how our work touches many lives. We have done 1800+ consultation so far. I love my team and their dedication. Thank you to all for their support. Stay safe. Stay strong. This too shall pass. Insha Allah
