Lagos CP says … Criminals use Abandoned Houses as hideouts, Abandoned Vehicles to hide ammunition and others, He suggests the State Govt takes over abandoned buildings and vehicles across the State.
CP says the Command has identified several buildings that needs to be taken over.
Lagos CP says 65 Traffic Robbers have been arrested in the last 4 weeks, he also appeals to the State Govt to wade into the JUSUN Strike situation, which is affecting administration of Justice in the State.
Lagos CP also says the issues of incessant increase of Transport Union levies on their members, which has disrupted security issues in some parts of the State.
Lagos CP says there are issues of Okada Riders across the State; using Okada to commit crime, recklessness, lawlessness, total disregard for traffic rules in Lagos, motorcyclists mobbing victims when accident occurs and creating an Avenue of insecurity in the State.

Lagos CP says the gains on Okada Riders have reduced after the protests which they took advantage of to come out agains and they have become bolder and more daring.

AYANGBUREN of Ikorodu says they, as Traditional Rulers have limited powers but the current Administration has always supported them well and commended the commissioner of Police on Ikorodu Security which they raised with him.
The Ayangburen of Ikorodu says “THE TIME IS NOW” to Ban Okada Riders across the State … The Audience claps massively. The Ayangburen says the plans for new small buses as alternatives is a good idea BUT “we cannot wait” … He says again: “This is the time to act”
Lagos CAN Chair says OKADA MUST be banned in Lagos State and the time is NOW. He Also says the Transport Unions MUST be responsible, he says the dues they collect must be monitored and even their motor parks are not even maintained and their activities must be checked.
Chairman Oshodi Isolo, Bolaji Ariyo also says Governor should “Eradicate Okada” in the State and appeals to the State Government on alternatives to ease the burden of people at the grassroots.
@NYCNLagos01 says policies and enforcement of the State must not be relaxed because of elections, It should be sustained no matter the period. He also appeals to the National Assembly to push the “Special Status” request of Lagos State.

The Labour Union rep says a lot of more women need to be involved in Stakeholders Engagement on Security in the State. She says Political Leaders should also be called to order, she commends Governor @jidesanwoolu for convening this meeting and also attending in person.
She suggests that people are still scared of dropping information with Security Agencies due to lack of trust, She also says more Neighborhood Watch Officers should be employed in the State.
The CDC Chair says Shanties are being built randomly around Iba and Alaba Rago, Lagos Island, Ikorodu … He says people should NOT be allowed to sleep in markets. He says this should be looked into.
The CDC Rep says from their own investigations, Most of these Okada Riders in the State are not even Nigerians, which makes it more dangerous for us in the State, he says they are not “Unemployed Graduates” as some people say.
Also On Okada Riders …. The CDC Rep says this is the time to “Flush them out” … he says Governor @jidesanwoolu has turned the State to a construction site which and this issue should be dealt with once and for all to complement the good works of the State Govt.
The Ayangburen of Ikorodu says the State Govt should engage the Traditional Rulers in communities on the selection process of the Neighborhood Safety Corps officials, so that individuals can be posted to their communities.

Governor @jidesanwoolu says the effect of the destruction of Police formations and other properties and Govt institutions due to the aftermath of the protests, has affected the already fragmented security architecture.
Mr Governor says there is an existing Law already on abandoned buildings and workers sleeping in construction sites from 6pm … He says construction developers will be held accountable using this Law.
Mr Governor says the Cultism issue is a major problem in that State and that’s why he signed a new Law on Cultism in the State which provides 21 year imprisonment for offenders and also expanded the punishment base.
Mr Governor says the CCTV Installation project has already started in the State, 67 of it are already LIVE in Lagos, while the main target is to have 2000 CCTV Camera across the State.
Mr Governor says the @LASRRA_LASG card will be re-launched to get the Database of people living in Lagos State.
Governor @jidesanwoolu says the Transport Unions must be responsible and If they undermine the Security Architecture of the State, The State Govt use the “Big Stick” on them.
Governor @jidesanwoolu says about 500 last-mile buses will be launched Next week and we are still getting to 5000, these buses will be used to move into inner roads and serve as an alternative to Okadas in the State.
Following the security challenges in different parts of Nigeria, Southern governors on Tuesday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address Nigerians on the position of things so as to restore the confidence of the citizens.
The Governors under the platform of Southern Nigeria Governors Forum also called on the Federal Government to convoke a national dialogue as a matter of urgency to address widespread agitations by the people in different parts of the country.

As part of measures to curtail security challenges in the State, the Lagos State Government has prohibited the illegal occupation of abandoned buildings and others under construction in the State.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, in a statement made available on Friday, stated that the move became necessary in view of the security challenges in the Nation and the need to curtail the spread of the ugly situation to the State.

The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi (@ProfAkinAbayomi) said the Lagos Lifeline is a Mental Health Crisis Management service designed to bridge the gap in the availability of mental health service.
@ProfAkinAbayomi noted that the objective of the Lagos Lifeline is geared towards providing improved access to simple diagnostic, counselling, and referral services for Lagosians, either as first point-of-call, or for follow-up care.
