The point is China is the perfect mixing bowl of animal reservoirs and dense human populations that gives rise to coronaviruses and influenza viruses, something known for a very long time
It doesn’t mean a lab accident is not possible just that we know that China, especially in the agriculture rich areas along the Yangtze and into Guangdong and Fujian in the South are susceptible to emerging infections. It’s a reason we kept a lab in Shanghai in the 1990s
