The NSCIA – under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto – wishes to inform the Nigerian Muslim Ummah that there was no proven report of the sighting of the crescent of Shawwal, 1442 AH on the 29th of #Ramadan, 1442 AH.
Ramadan fast will therefore continue tomorrow Wednesday, 12th May 2021 as the 30th day of Ramadan. Consequently, Thursday 13th May, 2021 is hereby declared as 1st of Shawwal, 1442 AH and the day of Eid-il-fitr. #EidAlFitr
The Council prays that Almighty Allah accept our fasting and other virtuous acts in Ramadan and grant us all peaceful and blissful Eid celebrations.
Wassalamu alaikum wa-Rahmatullah.
Signed.

PRAYER FOR THE NATION
The NSCIA under the leadership of its President-General & Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, is deeply saddened and very concerned about the heightened degree of insecurity in the country...
and the attendant fatalities, tensions, fear and confusion being foisted upon the citizenry. 2. The Council, therefore, again calls on the governments at all levels to redouble their efforts in protecting the lives and properties of the Citizens.
We also urge the Citizens to be vigilant and conscious of their neighbourhood and discharge their civic responsibilities of assisting the law enforcement agencies.
The three geopolitical zones of the South have only 2 Muslim JCAs out of 36 while the three geopolitical zones of the North have 15 Christian JCAs out of 34. Of the 79 JCAs nationwide, there are only 20 Muslims.
Who is intolerant?
The intransigence of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is playing out again in the deliberate distortion of the issues surrounding the shortlisted 20 Justices-designate.
The grouse of CAN, as amplified by some hagiographers masquerading as opinion leaders, is that 13 of the 20 recently shortlisted Justices are from the North and are Muslims.
