He’s been lead on bill in prev. years, was told he could co-sponsor. Now, Several Rs voting NO on suspension bill tonight in protest

Am told McCarthy & Dean spoke on House floor.

Rep. Gooden went to get Rep. Carter to join & discussion ensued over blocking him from bill Bc 1/6.

Hoyer expressed disapproval of McCarthy voting w/ Rs & encouraging no on this suspension bill.
McCarthy shot back: “I’m not going to screw over my members”

NEWS: Rep. Chip Roy in a memo to all House R offices bashes idea of Stefanik replacing Cheney as conference chair, per memo I obtained.

"We must avoid putting in charge Republicans who campaign as Republicans but then vote for and advance the Democrats’ agenda once sworn in..."
He adds: "Therefore, with all due respect to my friend, Elise Stefanik, let us contemplate the message

Roy, who once defended Cheney for her impeachment vote, also isn't standing by Cheney.

He says she will lose her job as conference chair b/c she pulled House R's "into distraction" as their voters instead want them to stop the "radical Democrat agenda."

Confirming my reporting: Here is the House Ethics Committee's notice to House Majority Whip Rep. Clyburn that he has been fined $5000 for going around a metal detector earlier this week.

He told Manu he plans to appeal.

Per the Capitol Police referral: “Representative Clyburn deliberately avoided being screened by refusing to submit to screening at the West lobby screening point. Congressman Clyburn went to the restroom, came out and continued past the officers… and into the House Chamber.”

Rs have new security video of Pelosi on 2/4 they plan to argue shows she entered Speakers Lobby to get onto House floor, claiming bc she didnt do metal detectors she skipped security protocol.

Falls on Cap police to determine violations. They did not report anything that day.

AP: How a leading anti-Trump group, the Lincoln Project, ignored a crisis in its ranks

This story is V interesting.

"For the collection of GOP consultants and former officials, being anti-Trump was becoming very good for business. Of the $90 million Lincoln Project has raised, more than $50 million has gone to firms controlled by the group’s leaders."
Says: There is no evidence "the Lincoln Project buried the allegations against Weaver for business reasons. But taken together, the harassment allegations and new revelations about spending practices raise significant questions about the management" of this big anti-Trump group
