For the past four years, there has been a running narrative that Donald Trump was the source of the major division among the people in our country. Because of the mercurial nature of his approach to all things political, I too have often been less than enthusiastic about Trump.
2/ I learned quite early in the Era of Trump that there are two sides of Trump: Style & Substance. Style can be infuriating, but Substance worthy of emulation. The election of Biden is a valuable lesson for us, the people, about distinguishing between these two characteristics.
3/ Biden campaigned on a platform that was largely devoid of substance, but which promised a more traditional style. He promised unity and to recapture the "soul" of America. It has now been more than 100 days in the Era of Biden. For me personally, it is time for a report card.
4/ On style, I give Pres Biden & his VP a C-. On substance, I give an F. This is an alarming grade based on illegal immigration, race policies, fiscal concerns and fundamental approach to the economy.

Immigration is a key factor for American greatness. It has the potential
5/to provide vitality, renewed energy. It must be on our terms as a nation. It must be orderly and controlled. That is why I so strongly oppose what is happening at our Southern Border. No matter how much I empathize with those who want to come to America for a better life,
6/they must do so legally. They must apply for citizenship from their country. The Biden admin has created a mess at the border. We can ill afford at this time an unlimited number of people who need low skill jobs, health-care, etc.

We have lived through some tumultuous years
7/because of race. We got through that period because of our dedication to the ideal of Equality. The pursuit of diversity and equity policies, based on the narrative of "White supremacy," is divisive and antithetical to our ideals, and the success that we have had with race
8/over the past two generations.

It is understandable that the federal government would make direct cash payments to citizens to facilitate transition from a worldwide pandemic back to normality. Those payments should not be designed in a way that fosters our dependence on them.
9/ And, we should not use "creative" language to justify adding a progressive wish list to the list of infrastructure needs.

Finally, Trump understood that the fundamental role of the federal government was to stimulate the market, not to replace it or dictate to it. The Biden
10/admin is so preoccupied with COVID - masks, distancing and vaccines - that it seems paralyzed and incapable of doing anything else.

While I genuinely wish that we were on an express path back to normality in our country, we are not there yet; and the Biden admin is an
11/obstacle, not the path forward.

I pray that the Pres can and will recognize the damage that he is inflicting on our country and alter course.
Our role as citizens is to make a collective decision about the best way forward. Venues such as Twitter become enormously useful as the vehicle to enable us to get our message into the public arena. So, please tweet up.

When MLK shared his dream of a day when his little children would not be judged by skin color but by the "content of their character," he didn't say that Black people or Democrats would be exempt from this dream; that they would continue to be judged on the basis of skin color.
/2 Tim Scott is not a Black Senator. He is a Senator who happens to be identified as "Black" along with a number of other traits. As such, we should expect him to view issues from the overall perspective of what he considers in the best interest of the country, not just for Black

In the State of the Union Address, President Biden claimed that "White Supremacy" is a problem in America. This is a claim that Pres Biden and VP Harris have made repeatedly without evidence or explanation.

For generations, the American people have devoted

Tonight, U.S. Senator Tim Scott honestly told the American people that "America is not a racist nation." That is, of course, his opinion. Some may disagree. I do NOT disagree, because the evidence is compelling that we are not. There is a debate raging throughout our country "
2/ about Critical Race Theory. At the heart of this view is the claim that there is rampant "White Supremacy" in America, and that it is "systemic." President Biden has made such a claim. He did so tonight. I am happy that Senator Scott refuted it.

Nations are defined by their
/3 ideals; and they are judged by the efficacy of and compliance with those ideals. In our case, individual liberty and Equality for all are the true measurements of American greatness. If we fail to defend those ideals, we cheapen them and we deny our children and grandchildren

One thing I have learned is that those of us who believe in equal rights fight one battle at a time, while those who seek to “transform America” are engaged in a long-term war. We win a battle and take a breather while they have already moved on to the next. We defeated the
2 Equity movement in CA by a whopping 14-point margin, but while we were basking in glory, those who believe in so-called diversity, equity and inclusion were electing a US president who embraced the “dei” movement as the centerpiece of his administration and selected the public
3 face of equity in CA (prop 16) as his running mate. Once elected, the new president issued an executive order that identifies race as the centerpiece of his administration. The Congress pushed through a COVID stimulus bill that includes an equity benefit for black farmers.

1 If you are a resident of California, I believe you will agree that our state is governed by a political monopoly. I have often stated my belief that monopolies are inherently bad for the people. Re public policy, they are often reckless and inconsiderate. They often produce
2 results that are inconsistent with the will of the people. Prop 16 was a textbook example of the problem. I was president of the No on 16 campaign. I have a track record of success in 9 states, but when I sought financial support from major donors, I struck out. One said,
3 “my ass’n agrees with you on the policy, but the Dems control the Legislature and the governor’s office, and we can’t go against them on this.” They ended up supporting something with which they disagreed because they didn’t want to offend The Monopoly, and they wrongly

7/ inquisitive about life. My mother died when I was 4, and uncle James, aunt Bert and my grandmother became the "raise Wardell squad." The squad said, these are the rules boy. Now, "make something of yourself." Read the Bible, do your homework from school, get good grades,
treat other people the way you want to be treated, nobody is better than you, but you are no better than anyone else, respect your elders (at 81, I now concur) and put your faith in the Lord. I faithfully followed these rules.

Then, along came a preacher who said, "we
hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal... " He said, that's the American creed. "I want this nation to be true to that creed. Don't judge people by the color of their skin." By my 25th birthday, America had largely ended the racism that was

It is currently fashionable to argue that health disparities are evidence of “systemic racism.” This argument and the issue of choke-holds are the rationale for trying to reinstate race preferences in WA. If you don’t genuflect to this claim, the diversity enforcers and the
race advocates will seek to make your life miserable. This is happening to Sue Frost, a Sac County Supervisor who was recently on the short-end of a 4-1 vote about precisely this issue. These are pc bullies, supported by the media. We should give moral support to those who refuse
race advocates try to beat you into submission. We see this occurring in Sacto County, where Supervisor Sue Frost was on the losing end of a 4-1 vote about a resolution which asserted that health disparities were indicative of systemic racism. She is right to push back, as we see
