How to perform pooja on Akshay Tritiya. :

Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most important days in the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi (third day), Jyeshtha, Shukla Paksha (waxing or the brighter phase of the Moon).

Note down the Pooja Samagri which is required for the Pooja.

1. A wooden platform aur chowki

2. Images of goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu

3. Image of Lord Ganesha

4. An oil lamp or Diya

5. Cotton wicks or batti

6. Ghee

7. Fresh Flowers

8. Five types of fruits and 3 coconuts with husk.

9.Durva for Lord Ganesha.

10. Tulsi for Lord Vishnu.

11. Paan and supari

12. Kalash

13. Dakshina

14. Raw Mango Leaves

15. Water

16. Gangajal

17. Haldi

18. Chandan

19. Kumkum

20. Akshat

21. Incense stick

22. Naivedya ( kheer)

23. Janeu

24. Sindoor

25. Panchamrit( concentration of ghee,curd,milk,sugar,honey)

26.camphor

27. A plate

Process to do the Pooja

1.Rise early. Add a few drops of gangaajal to the bucket of water and have a bath.

2.Wear clean clothes

3.Offer Argya to Surya Dev

4. Do Dhyan or meditation. Take Sankalp ( take a pledge that you will perform the Puja wholeheartedly and dedication)

5.Sprinkle some gangaajal on the altar to purify it.

6.Cover the chowki with the yellow fabric and place the idol of Ganesha over it

7. Then please the idols or pictures of of Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi.

8. Light the lamp of ghee

9. Now prepare the kalash. Smear some turmeric on the kalash and make a Swastik mark on it with sindoor. Fill water in it and add some turmeric and kumkum to it and drop some

Coins. Now put a bunch of mango leaves on the mouth of the kalash ( remember that the stem should be soaked in water and the leaves upwards. Now place the coconut on the mouth of the Kalash between the leaves. Now place the Kalash on the chowki.

10. Begin the Puja by invoking Lord Ganesha and seek his blessings by offering him jal ,flowers ,Akshat ,kalava ,fruits and Dakshina.

11. Offer your prayers to Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi. Offer jal, Akshat, mauli to the deities one by one. Sprinkle some turmeric, Kumkum,

Akshat on the Kalash and offer kalava and flowers to it.

12. Offer Janeu to Lord Vishnu

13. Offer Sindoor to Maa Lakshmi.

14. Chant Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi Mantras.

15. Offer Chandan followed by flowers, incense sticks and Tulsi to Lord Vishnu and a lotus flower to Maa Lakshmi

16. This must be followed by offering Naivedya.

17. Conclude the Puja by offering the Aarti and seek the blessings of Ishwar for happiness and prosperity..
