Even asks his computer person to go the Parent's Guide section of the website, where it says this:
Will we get a different result if I try Big Fish Casino? Even asks. Hitt says he would have to try the links.
Do you have any reason to disagree with our conclusion this cannot be done? Even asks. My research team did this, so I'd have to check. I didn't try it systematically, Hitt says.
Even says his team has tried for every game Hitt listed and only find three that work: Fortnite, Roblox and PUBG. Hitt says his research team investigated this and he trusts them.
Even ends his cross-examination. Apple’s Cynthia Richman will be back up for re-direct in a moment.
Richman asks if anything Even showed changes his analysis. Hitt says no. His team analyzed it and some were available through emulators.
"My research team went out and found the games and looked at them to see if they were comparable," Hitt says. Sometimes a company licenses out the technology to another developer to make it for another platform, he says.
"These products can be made available on different platforms," Hitt says.
Did you attempt to purchase V-Bucks? Richman says. Hitt says yes, he bought V-Bucks on many. YGR: Did you try for anything else, because that looked pretty difficult. Hitt says his research team did.
YGR: If that's true, why couldn't you do it on cross-examination? Hitt says his team was able to for each of the games in his analysis. We spent a fair amount of time going through this, he says.
Going back to Even's question about why Hitt didn't analyze whether removing Apple's restrictions would lead to more growth/innovation: “Moore’s law is not magic.” It happens because developers and hardware engineers...do the engineering to make that happen.
"Apple has invested enormous amounts in their ecosystem," he says.
Richman asks Hitt why he didn't do a SSNIP test (which is part of the hypothetical monopolist test). Hitt says it's "extremely difficult" to do that for a two-sided market.
Hitt says his analysis of how many users moved when the Nintendo Switch involved 457,000 players.
Richman steps down. Even is back up for recross.
Comparable games from a different developer, that's not something that advances the ball for a developer who needs to pay the 30 percent to Apple, correct? Even asks.
Hitt says it demonstrates the ability to offer the same game on PC.

Welcome to Day 10, which is (hopefully!) the last day of expertpalooza in #epicvapple! Today's in-court reporters are @peard33 and @MActon93.
First up, Epic's main expert David Evans takes the stand to offer rebuttal to the Schmalensee/LaFontaine/Hitt testimony.
Then we get Ned Barnes, Epic's accounting expert. Apple had asked to close the courtroom for Barnes' testimony but the judge denied that request. So hopefully some juicy details there.
Even asks about emulators. Hitt says it allows a user to play something available on a different platform. Hitt says he is aware they exist but doesn't know who makes them.
Even says it would seem to undermine Apple's safety and security to have a user download an emulator to play a particular game. Hitt said there appeared to be some games available in the Microsoft Store through emulators.
Even asks about the Switch. "While a lot of people have iPhones, not many people have Switch?" he asks. Hitt says he wouldn’t characterize it as "not many" but fewer than iPhone users.
The merger bill is up: @SenAmyKlobuchar says merger fees haven't been changed since 2001. This will increase fees on the biggest mergers and decrease them on the smaller mergers.
. @HawleyMO says he will support the bill though he has concerns about the @FTC and @JusticeATR whose performance is "lacking." "Google is a glaring, glaring example"
He says state AGs have done the most important work in antitrust recently "I wonder if we ought not to be directing more resources to state attorneys general."
Schmalensee says he has testified in court before, most notably as Microsoft's expert in US v Microsoft. He has consulted for @FTC Bureau of Economics and @JusticeATR. He was member of CEA during George H.W. Bush admin from 1989 to 1991
Stanford's Susan Athey is back on the stand for #epicvapple this AM being cross examined by Apple's Karen Dunn.
Dunn is asking Athey a bunch of questions about Steam's apps, like Steam Chat, a messenger app. techcrunch.com/2019/05/21/val…
Athey says she's used Steam but not Steam Chat or Steam Link, an app that lets you stream Steam from your PC to your mobile device or TV en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_Link
