Under Cllr Ejiofor’s Leadership, the Corbyn Council has done so many things to make a difference to the people of Haringey. These are just some of the things I’m most proud to have worked on…

@haringeycouncil @CllrEjiofor
We declared a Climate Emergency and then launched our Climate Change Action Plan – committing us to being zero carbon as a Council by 2027 and as a borough by 2041, with projects to green our housing stock, businesses, transport and energy generation 🌎🌹haringey.gov.uk/sites/haringey…
Between ourselves and our volunteer schemes, we have planted over 4000 new trees across the borough. Trees are very close to my heart, and I want them flourishing in Haringey!!
During the pandemic, parks became absolutely vital as a place of sanctuary and safety. We kept them all open, safe and welcoming. Support for our wonderful park cafes has been a huge part of that!!
We have invested in our parks, with a new Play Space and Changing Places toilet in Finsbury Park, all-weather football pitches at Down lane and Markfield, 5 new outdoor gyms, floodlights for courts and pitches across the borough and £4.5 million on maintenance and improvement
Finsbury Park is a beautiful park with an iconic gig venue. I’m proud that we hosted acts from Stormzy to Liam Gallagher to Drake and in doing so raised millions of pounds to spend in the park!!
We have initiated bringing New River Leisure Centre back in house. Look out for it later this summer! Having council-run services helps make leisure more inclusive and diverse and gives the community more control over its own assets and programs ⚽️🏀🏐🏈⚾️🎾🏉🏓🏊🏿‍♀️🏋🏿‍♂️♿️
We have launched 14 School Streets across the borough, with 8 more coming shortly. These provide children, teachers, parents and carers with cleaner air and safer streets as they go to and from school. Let's get one for every school!
We launched our Air Quality Action Plan to tackle London's dangerous and illegal levels of pollution. We now have a monitoring station in every ward, with a central, live station in WG. All children should be able to grow up breathing clean, safe air 🌱

We held Play Streets and Car-Free events to show the wonders of local streets without traffic. These were hugely popular, particularly amongst our children!!!
We secured £5.1 million of capital funding for walking and cycling projects, to be delivered as part of a vital and agenda-defining Walking and Cycling Action Plan

We decarbonised the Council Pension Fund

@mattwhiteski
We launched our first Affordable Energy Strategy in July 2020, with policies and programmes to address fuel poverty – where high energy prices bring households into low income. This included £520k from Carbon Offset Funds for energy advice and measures💸
haringey.gov.uk/sites/haringey…
We’ve taken action to reduce the use of Single Use Plastics both internally and with our partners across the borough 🚰🍶🌊

We designed and launched Clean Car App, a UK first. This app records the user’s car journeys, creating a vehicle usage profile and showing how much money could be saved by a switch to an electric vehicle...

@CllrSeema
... and we now have approximately 100 public electric vehicle charging points across the borough!!!
We switched all our electricity contracts for corporate buildings and schools to a renewable energy supplier. We secured £2.6 million to refurbish and upgrade our schools 🏫🏘️🏬
@CllrKaushikaAmin
We secured £1.6 million in funding for social housing 'Energiesprong' retrofits

#goodgreenhomesforall
Low income can be a huge barrier to mental and physical wellbeing and democratic participation. That’s why I’m proud that we’re introducing socio-economic status as a local Protected Characteristic. Anti-poverty action has to be built into everything we do ✊🏻🌹
I’m proud to have developed our new Equalities Calendar to support, celebrate and commemorate significant dates and events across our wonderful diverse communities. Watch this space!!

There is no place for hate, discrimination and harassment in Haringey 📢#BlackLivesMatter 🏳️‍🌈
I am really proud to have driven the creation of Disability Action Haringey, a pan-disability user-led support and advocacy organisation. At last the voices of disabled people will be heard in this borough 🗣️

Socialism in action!!! It's been fantastic to work with @CllrEjiofor on the great Corbyn Council project 🚩🌹
