Yesterday, @tamoorh put out a video asking everyone to wake up about the injustice in Palestine.

It’s sobering and needed.

He nails what my privileged problem was: as an American, I’ve been taught “the Middle East is always fighting.”

A thread.

So, today, @gankstrr and I woke up with the goal of understanding. Here’s a list of what we watched.

(And I hope you watch, too.)

This isn’t a Middle East issue; it’s a human rights issue. Time to get off the bench and stand up for what’s right.

@ign’s got a list of ways to help below. @KindaFunnyVids is organizing a charity stream this week. No matter how small you think your voice is, it matters.

Welp.

If you’re late to the party, @gamespot’s got ways to help:

I'm seeing a lot of people say stuff like "Why should I cheer for Epic; they're already rich." Which, of course, is true, but I think misses one of the points of why they're doing this.

Namely, they're the only ones big enough to do this and actually make a difference.

THREAD
This is exactly like -- I'm not joking -- Taylor Swift taking on Spotify. Taylor didn't need the money, but she was a big enough voice that her making a statement brought the issue to the masses: time.com/3554468/why-ta…
Taylor/Epic don't *need* more money per transaction, but smaller artists certainly do. They can throw around their weight to make things better for other people.

Of course, they're going to make more money, too, but (maybe I'm just being naive) I also think they want to help.

Disheartened to read a bunch of KFGD questions thinking the #SpiderManPS4 Rami suit is because of the people who were being jerks on the Internet. That's not what happened. I have no inside knowledge, but I think it's pretty clear we have a sad, repugnant situation here...
If I've learned one thing covering games for 12 years, it's that nothing's simple. Creating the suit wasn't simple. Getting it to work wasn't simple. Making sure it didn't break the game wasn't simple. Getting Sony/Marvel/etc. approvals wasn't simple. This took forever.
So, now, put yourself in Insom's shoes. You're working on this thing you know people want, you're excited to give it to them, but contracts and red tape keep you from even being able to TEASE that you're doing it. You're close, but you still can't say anything. Excitement!
