What if we had a profession dedicated to finding out what’s true and the people in it could write reports about it so we would know what’s real and what’s not, and those people who made the reports — the report-ers, for lack of a better word — could set the record straight

Hear me out but I don’t think this would be too hard. First the Truth Finders look at the statements (one real, one fake) that appear in the Washington Post. Then they “verify” which one is true by conducting some sort of internet search. And then they file their Truth Report

Taking this out of hypothetical-land: I did some Truth Research™ on the people who made these statements in the Washington Post. It turns out, they all lied about the election being stolen. This means they do not tell the truth. So, these statements are probably not true:

In my opinion it would benefit the public if we had a profession that kept a journal of all the things that are true that happen, and things that are fake and don’t happen would be left out of that journal. The people who keep the journal — Journal-ors, maybe — could be paid

I guess the journal would have to come out daily, because the Washington Post comes out daily and contains all these things that need to be Truth-Checked. So you’d have to hire as many Journalors as there are people who print untrue statements in the WP (and maybe other places??)
