Just spoke to the Van Buren Township police and they didn't give me a name because he wasn't arraigned yet. They said it was a road rage incident and he's been charged with misdemeanor assault but NOT child endangerment. He came up from behind and punched the dad several times.
I can confirm the assailant was released but his name is not being shared publicly until his arraignment. Let me get this straight, he attacks a father from behind... and he's already out & about? Even worse, they haven't even set a court date yet because it's just a misdemeanor.
