BREAKING: Kidnappers on the prowl on Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos State. Reports indicate several persons abducted about 8pm yesterday night by gunmen #UGM . There have been growing cases of abduction along Ozumba Mbadiwe, Falomo and Admiralty way in recent time.
While many were released after being disposed of their valuables & account emptied, some were not so lucky to make it back alive. One of d victims of yesternight’s abduction disclosed she was pressed to d floor of d vehicle & driven round Lekki for about 3hrs b4 finally released
After being dispossessed of her ATM cards, PIN and accounts emptied. Tale like hers is becoming a daily thing along that axis. These abductors use unpainted taxis and in some cases, tinted SUVs. @PoliceNG @Prince_Muyen actions to stem this tide is urgently needed.

JUST IN: The leader of the armed group that attacked Police Hq and Owerri Prison on 5th April, Ikonso Commander and 6 members of his gang have been neutralized in a joint GSF operation early hours of today, at the groups operational Hq in Awomama in Oru East LGA of Imo State.
The GSF team which includes personnel of the DSS, Military and the Police recovered 6 AK47 riffles, other type of weapons and several ammunition. The GSF team came under heavy gunfire on approaching the location. 4 members of the team sustained gunshot wounds.
Ikonso Commander is believed to be the Vice President designate and operational commander of all Militia groups’ activities in the region. Several military camouflage were also recovered during the raid.

BREAKING: Liberian Government has requested Nigerian Government to take urgent steps to prevent the spread of Ebola virus in the region. This is on the heels of the recent outbreak and resurgence of the deadly virus in Guinea. DRC is also battling the the resurgence of the virus.
Guinea experienced a devastating Ebola scourge between 2014 and 2016. This resurgence is a major setback and coming at a time the world is battling with Corona Virus leaves mush to be worried about. Adding Ebola to COVID-19 will deal a big blow to the economy of the region.
Ebola virus got into Nigeria on 20th of June, 2014 through a Liberian visitor known as Sawyer. The scourge on Guinea affected Liberia and from there got to Nigeria.
