The Nicaraguan dictatorship has removed the legal status of the civil society opposition party PRD leaving the business alliance CxL as its only opposition in November's elections. Basic divide-and-rule, IOW.
The decision immediately followed a complaint by evangelical leaders that the PRD is "acting contrary to their Christian principles," by making an electoral alliance with feminist organisations, sexual diversity organisations and others of the National Coalition.
"What is clear is the motivation of the dictatorship to eliminate the social sectors that moved the floor in April 2018, especially civil society, and keep playing with more flexible sectors."
Ortega/Murillo have relied on the support of business & the church to survive. And so it goes on with LGBT inclusion in civil society being deployed as an excuse to resist opposition unity. Awful. cafeconvoz.com/2021/05/18/imp…
LGBT civil society organisations have been repressed along with everyone else who supported the rebellion in 2018, with their leaderships forced into exile. The right wing opposition to Ortega/Murillo wants them disowned too.
To summarise: a group of Nicaraguan pastors complained to the electoral authority that the civil society coalition was "betraying Christian values" by including feminists & gayz and as a result the coalition's party has lost its slot for the Presidential elections in November.
More from @cefeche on the divide-and-rule that is working brilliantly for the dictatorship "due to arrogance, sectarianism, or political ineptitude." confidencial.com.ni/opinion/el-peo…
As the Nicaraguan regime blocks political parties at the request of anti-gay evangelicals, UK trade-unions fund other worldly propaganda about 'democracy'.
“They are not going to shut us up, they can steal other television cameras, other accessories, they can occupy a room where we had made some productions, but we will continue to inform, they will not to silence our journalists.” - @cefeche confidencial.com.ni/nacion/carlos-…
'With total violence they cornered us and took cell phones. My colleague René Lucia was persecuted and attacked. As we were several journalists, they could not arrest all of us because we dispersed. A plainclothes policeman was leading the riot police.'
'The moment the police follow us to arrest us for recording the assault on @confidencial_ni. We were an international press group. Not all of us managed to evade them… Luis Sequeira is still in prison.'
Today, Nicaraguans and Cubans and Venezuelans have been promoting #AmericaSinDictaduras Solidarity against the Americas remaining dictatorships. Here's @pxmolina's cartoon

When @PiruloAr was hauled before a Nicaraguan Prosecutor yesterday they made a point of saying that they did not like the reporting of his 👇 outlet, Divergentes. They said Wilfredo was lying. They really, really don't like this 👇 reporting.
Important to note that the attacks on these reporters in english coming from the Ortega supporting Western left underpin +aid the repression in very practical ways. They are worse than Durante in that they bulk up/distribute the fake 'evidence' used to condemn Ortega's opponents.
This is the 'reporting' which underpins Nicaragua's global propaganda support for its repression of journalists and political opponents.
Y'know when folks do events organised by 🇷🇺at the 🇺🇳 that support Russian geopolitical priorities like trashing the White Helmets and still claim to be 'independent'? This is the same👇
Rodriguez is 🇻🇪VP and Arreaza is 🇻🇪 Foreign Sec. Rosales is the regime Ambassador to the OAS.
Ivan Timofeev is from the Valdai Club and provides the 'facts' to support Russia's occupation of Crimea. He's also intimately connected to 'Russiagate'. nytimes.com/2017/11/10/us/…
This Russian is involved because the campaign against sanctions is global and has been going on for months and Russia has a lot invested in it.
Folks who've been observing Peruvian elections for decades say there's zero, zip, nada evidence of fraud. Keiko's specific claims have *already been picked up by the system* as isolated, not systemic, cases. elcomercio.pe/elecciones-202… v @michaelcdeibert
Whoever lost, the integrity of the election would be under attack.
Ben Norton claimed a Spanish aid agency was funding 'regime change' in Nicaragua. The Spanish agency say he's citing a faked document that the Ortega regime has tried to use against them before. despacho505.com/aecid-desmient…
Norton's recycling of Ortega/Murillo 'CIA regime change' claims includes this 👇
