Opportunities were missed, in part because of the left.
+ The entire pundit class missed the massive disinfo campaign - because it was in Spanish.
Issues regarded as niche and specialist, such as how the Democrats related to Venezuelan politics or Colombian or how they dealt with past support for Castro, blew up in these communities. Mainstream liberals had no idea (why should they).
And none of all that in Florida is relevant for other Latino communities, such as in Texas where process issues were apparently important 👇 Or in Arizona where angry Latino voters did turn the state blue.
I have seen a bunch of liberal/left pundit takes today along the lines of 'anyone who thinks Biden is a socialist is a moron'. This is really unhelpful, to put it mildly.
Latinos who have 'Maduro/Castro PTSD', as I've heard it described, don't want to hear that.

It's a sales pitch. "Diaz-Canel's statements, however, were not chosen at random … [They're claiming that] Cuba is a pharmaceutical power that has developed successful treatments against covid-19, which have aroused interest in international markets." OFFS.
There are a bunch of lefties promoting this regime line of Cuba as some sort of biotech hub. Here's @ngameztorres reporting in April on the rather more mundane reality.

Am old enough to remember when the BBC profiled JC and turned to his 'close friend' (I forget exactly how they described her) Lindsey for insights. Since then it's been a tad quiet for some reason but now the dynamic duo are off again.

The focus is Mexico + women. But there's space for not one but two lectures by Dr Francisco Dominguez, the Marxist Madurista usually featured at Cuba/Vzla Solidarity events. One is the sole Venezuela content. And a film presentation by Pablo Navarette, TeleSUR's UK correspondent.
I see this is being referred to as a 'personal jolly'. Oh it's a bit more than that, journos.
