In an effort to address the mental health burden that Black students face in the education system, Taraji P. Henson has created a 6-week mental health campaign that's launching during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Called The Unspoken Curriculum, the campaign is designed to combat racial bias in the classroom. Before making her big acting break, Henson worked as a substitute teacher, where she says she witnessed that racial bias against Black students firsthand.
The campaign aims to equip Black students with educational videos and resources that 'advocate for meaningful change in the classroom by rethinking and reforming the lessons Black students learn in school.' The 6-week program runs from May 17 to June 21.
According to People, it will 'include discussions with mental health experts and virtual hangout spaces moderated by therapists and educators, where students can speak openly about mental health and their experiences in school.' #MentalHealthAction

Matthew Ashton, design lead at LEGO, created the set and incorporated colors from the pride flag.
Ashton told The Guardian he initially made a set just for his work desk because he wanted something that reflected the LGBTQ+ community, of which he is a member. Now his vision is being shared with everyone.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is expected to introduce a resolution aimed at blocking the sale of $735 million worth of weapons to Israel.
The sale of these weapons, including Joint Direct Attack Munitions and Small Diameter Bombs, was planned prior to the recent violence between Hamas militants and the Israeli government.
Sanders’ resolution would just need a simple majority to pass, though two-thirds of both chambers would be needed in case of a veto from Pres. Joe Biden.
