Amid historic rise in shootings in #Portland, gun violence prevention advocate Pastor Hennessee is holding a community call to action. Other community & faith leaders and elected officials from @multco & city of Portland are also speaking
@tedwheeler calls gun violence an epidemic and says more needs to be done.
Protesters showed up at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist and yelled at Pastor Hennessee. Immediately after speaking Mayor Wheeler had to get ushered by security out side door.
We were confronted & law enforcement officials confronted as we left building to get to our car.
I took this video of people following FBI agent to his car and yelling at him outside the church where press conference was held
Some protesters were berating acting US Attorney as well, yelling that he and @FBIPortland agent were KKK

UPDATE #SwanIsland shooting (thread): @PortlandPolice says ~60 ppl gathered at McDonalds on N Going St Monday. Some came from Jemare Manns' funeral. The 21 y.o was shot & killed at house party 10 days ago. At least 1 rival gang member shot at the group & ppl in group fired back.
@PortlandPolice 4 shooting victims showed up to @OurLegacyHealth Emanuel 10 min later. Chaos unfolded; a crowd of ppl (same group from McD's) showed up at hospital, fights broke out & they were getting combative with staff. PPB says ppl tried forcing their way into ER. Hospital went on lockdown.
@PortlandPolice@OurLegacyHealth Several people had guns. Dozens of officers from all over city + crisis response team volunteers from Office of Violence Prevention called in to defuse situation. Things calmed down & scene cleared a couple hours later.
Police are calling this gang-related & retaliatory...
Last night officers swarmed Legacy Emmanuel when 4 people showed up w/ gunshot wounds. Large crowd gathered & fights broke out. Police/dispatch called it a "gang fight". Dispatch said group went to a funeral then met up at McDonalds on Swan Island then shooting happened. @KGWNews
At the McDonalds on N Going there’s shattered glass all over the parking lot. People left empty bottles and even shoes. Note: I can’t confirm this is part of last night’s shooting scene.
This is a very industrial area with mostly warehouses, commercial businesses nearby
