She was there when I was born.
A young, energetic research student, Brinda & her brother Vidya (both in pic) were my first childhood buddies
My relationship with Brinda only grew stronger with the passage of time despite the huge political-religious divide #BarriersBroken
One of the 17 scholars who worked on a study that captured the changes in agrarian patterns in the Tanjore belt which formed the basis for this book👇
Brinda was a key member of #AIDWA (♀️'s wing of #CPIM) She poured her energy in protecting & caring for the abused & battered
One of the few in that party who stood for the victim irrespective of their gender.
A rare gem, who did not carry the ubiquitous hate the others possessed
She was an org builder focused on doing what was required for any situation. She carried no personal hate or dislike. Haven't seen a more positive person than her. Even when handling the most horrific& heart breaking rape cases she knew how to help the victim stay positive
She was much neglected by the org but it never mattered to her. I remember she always used to say that she looked at those below her& knew that she had to do what was needed coz she spelt hope for them. She survived cancer beating it in style. She braved many personal challenges
She truly lit up a room with her presence & energy. Even when we disagreed ideologically the love stayed undiminished. She brought joy to me whenever I met her. I fondly called her gundamma (don't recollect her being fat) - no auntie/akka... That silent moral support
Honestly never imagined there would come a day she wouldn't be around. She breathed her last today after struggling with an unidentified lung condition for 3 weeks. (It was assumed cancer had recurred but the biopsy was negative)
This evening after things got worse
With influence my dad & other friends got her a bed in a better hospital. (Why didn't they do it sooner 😭) She passed away minutes after admission.
Her funeral would have easily seen over a 1000 but now she will go without any of us bidding her good bye.
She was a beautiful life Pragmatic, sincere, compassionate and selfless. Never believed she wouldn't return. Taking to this inane place to mourn her loss Something I couldn't do with those of us who were touched by her beautiful presence #Death the only thing certain in our lives
🙏🙇 AUM Shanthi to a friend who was a family member.

Firsthand account of #Corona crisis in TN
My 8yr old niece & 80yr old uncle tested +ve
Hence my brother took a test for all the others at home. Himself, wife, son, in-laws. Report +ve for everyone except bro.
Corporation called my brother this morning & scolded him for testing
They asked him why he had to test for everyone& increase the cases, instead he should have simply home quarantined himself🤬
Appalled at the contrast in handling this. Same @chennaicorp last year was so helpful& considerate when my neighbour tested +ve
Now abusing people
As if this isn't bad enough. He next got a call from a hospital cartel/local thug who insisted that my brother bulk book hospital beds with him. My brother refused. He tried to pressure him.
TN people that didn't vote& those that voted must be richly congratulated.
We love to debate many things - no everything actually. Even if we agree we love still love a good discussion.
i get to see recommendations, at times ridicule of who is a guru - how he must dress, speak, behave and even live.
If i knew how someone else should be then why am i not all that? duh! i am not a realised being yet. I dont know the very fundamental nature of life. But i do know how everyone else ought to be in order to receive a tick in my teenie tiny mind box.
somewhat like this
i dont recollect having identical types of teachers in my school or for that matter in life. I dont recollect all students loving the same teachers.
i also dont recollect the teacher with the most doctorates or most doctoral students being the most endearing one.
twitter keeps me on bounce! so i request all the other handles to please take these questions forward.
1. (how) & why did the imbecile who was the face in the karuppar kootam video go to pondicherry?
1/n
2. Why was he not arrested right away but given a chance to appear with his motley gang, garland a statue & make an abusive speech about the constitution? Why did the Pondy govt not react with speed? 2/n
3. If someone slaps your mom today will you take 3 / 4 days to react? Unless the person who slapped her is your father & you incited him to do so? - This is for all those who waited to gauge public reaction before responding. 3/n
