After Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe chastised citizens for not showing proper respect to HIS office, City Commissioner Reina Saco expressed her hope that legislators who passed HB1 would "keep the devil company one day."

Poe earlier said, "I understand the disrespect I'm being shown when people call me 'Mr. Poe.' I would never show the same disrespect to any of our neighbors or any of my colleagues... That was a title that was earned and delivered by the voters of Gainesville...

2/4
"It is the office, and the office deserves respect."

Poe did not respond in any way to Saco's wish that state legislators spend eternity in hell; apparently calling a Mayor "Mr." is far worse.

From @HealthyFla: As FL nears 10 million vaccinated statewide and experiences a decrease in demand for COVID-19 testing, the state is transitioning COVID-19 testing to a locally-led effort through FDOH, county health departments, primary care providers and local governments
"The state operates 27 state-supported testing sites across 14 counties and is preparing to transition all state-supported COVID-19 testing sites by Friday, May 28.
"COVID-19 testing services will continue to be offered at the local level at nearly 200 locations, including county health departments.

The infant death in DeSoto County is curious. Case line data shows "unknown" for emergency room and hospitalization. Infant tested positive 2/22; there is a death on 2/22, and the next one is on 4/14. There are no news stories with any specifics about this child.
