74 new cases of COVID-19 announcedn in Nova Scotia today (Sunday, May 23) thread/
There are now 943 known active cases in the province.
Of today's new cases, 61 are in Nova Scotia Health's Central Zone, 9 are in the Eastern Zone, 3 are in the Northern Zone, and 1 is in the Western Zone
There appear to be 2 new deaths, but the update is in progress and this has been a mistaken stat recently. One moment...
I'm still waiting on confirmation of deaths. But yesterday, Nova Scotia Health labs completed 6,890 PCR tests.
Hospitalization and ICU stats are currently unavailable, and vaccination figures are not provided on the weekend.
2 deaths confirmed: a man and a woman, both of whom were in their 70s, and both who lived in the Central Zone.
Here is the graph of daily new cases and the 7-day rolling average (today at 78) since March 28, the last day of zero new cases:
Here is the active caseload since March 28, which reflects 103 people considered newly recovered today and, sadly, the 2 people who died:
Here's the graph of daily new cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020:
And here's the active caseload for the duration of the pandemic, annotated with the primary associations of the 3 major outbreaks:
Today's new cases broken down by age cohort (this is off by 1 person, as someone appears to be 1 case recently reassigned to another province):
0-19: 20
20-39: 33
40-59: 18
60-79: 1
80+: 1
Here are cases by age cohort as a percentage of each day's total cases:
Hospitalization data is said to be coming later today. I'll have a fuller report in an article later this afternoon.
