The assertion was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, at a seminar organised in commemoration of the Y2021 World Culture Day, themed: “Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Tourism, Arts and Culture: Path to Recover”. #LASG
Noting that the importance of promoting our culture and heritage cannot be overemphasised, Bonu said “In the last two years, the administration has engaged in series of activities that are deliberately structured towards positioning the State as a major tourism hub in Africa,
where private individuals and institutions can confidently invest their resources in advancing the tourism and entertainment sector”.
While urging private individuals and necessary stakeholders to support and partner with the State government in realising the dream of making Lagos the tourism hub of Africa and the World at large, Bonu assured them of a conducive environment for making the dream a reality. #LASG
The Director/Chief Executive Officer, Council for Arts and Culture, Mr. Oladusi Komolafe, explained that the World Culture Day has been set aside to be celebrated annually on May 21st to utilise cultural diversity for peaceful dialogue and development. #LASG#ForAGreaterLagos
