This generation drains me to the core! Calling with WhatsApp call instead of airtime means you are not serious. Buying items on promotion like Steers Wacky Wednesday, Spur Bottomless Thursdays and Chicken Inn Terrific Tuesday or using an iTel means you are broke. I'm tired shem.
Not wearing designer = you are broke. Staying with your parents when you are 30 means you are not mature. Staying in the ghetto whilst working means you are poor. The list is endless. People really need financial literacy. A lot of you are chocking in debts simply because you
want to live according to a fake narrative. You would rather APPEAR rich than be ACTUALLY rich. Someone stays with their parents even if they are 30 probably because the parents have an ailment which need someone really close to them to take care of them
Some can ACTUALLY afford an iPhone 12 Max but they have 6 siblings they are looking after and they can not have the luxury of walking with a phone which has a value that can send 10 of the siblings to school and empower them hence they buy an iTel which can serve the purpose of
communication which they intend it for. Some can ACTUALLY afford to buy restaurant food on a daily basis but they wait for promotions because they help you save. Some wait to buy on those days because they want to buy more and give the homeless and streetkids but wena you have
no idea about it and you just laugh at them because you see them buying promotional items and you think it is because they are poor. Some people grew up without wearing any shoes and started only wearing shoes after their first salary. So to them that "fake" sneaker is the best
shoe they have and most importantly, they bought it with their own money without asking it from you "the rich one." Rich people are usually called "stingy" and people expect them to go around throwing money at people. They became rich because they knew how to save and never spend
just for the sake of spending. There are people staying in Borrowdale, Sandton, Grange etc who are choking on rentals because they do not want to downgrade their lifestyle and suit their pocket. There are people who are sending kids to A schools but the kid looks abandoned
there because there is not enough support for the kid. No wonder some kids hide during visiting days or lie that these people are my uncles and nephews when you as a parent visit them. DON'T force things. Do what you can according to your budget. Never try and fit in to please
some internet stranger or to make it appear as if you are rich when you are just barely making it. Your pocket needs to breathe. If you earn 10k per month, it doesn't mean you can now afford to buy a 9k per month car instalment. You will choke whilst driving the latest car model
We need financial education. This spending behavior needs a good bank balance. DON'T spend for the sake of it. That mentality must cease forthwith. When you understand these things you will see why rich people love freebies.

If most Zimbabweans knew where John, Stewart and Thomas Meikle really got their money to build the Meikles Hotel and expand their business, they would be so furious and boycott that building forever.
Much is talked about Gold as a means of wealth in the 1890s but little attention is given to the vast monopolies that dealt in the beef and cattle business. As everyone was rushing towards gold, the Meikles brothers invested in cattle as there was high demand for beef back in
England and the Americas. At first the Meikles brothers were buying cattle from the natives for a fair price and selling at a profit and sometimes fattening before exporting to Europe. However as demand soared higher, the Meikles brothers were pushed to the limits by the

If I ever become the President of Zimbabwe:

1. I'll limit parly seats to 100 and reduce gobbling tax payer's money
2. I will remove redundant titles like minister of state, deputy minister etc
3. The government vehicles will be purchased locally
4. 4x4 vehicles will only be for
parly members outside major cities. PAs must not get 4x4s and stay whole day in airconditioned rooms. 4x4 is for rugged work and terrain
5. I will leave ministers to do official openings of projects in their line of ministry. I can't be officially opening a powerstation when the
minister of energy is there. Same applies to roads when the minister of transport and infrastructure development is there.
6. I will change the education system we have right now. ECD A&B, Gr 1- 7, Form 1 - 6, Gap year, First year to 5th yr, 21 years of paying fees is not a joke

Our education in Africa is not helping us that much anymore. Bachelor's degrees produce a lot of managers. Polytechnic college diplomas produce handsmen and technicians. Now we have lots of degree holders (managers) than diploma holders(technicians and handsmen). The end result is
companies and organizations end up creating numerous managerial posts than to hire actual people who do the work. You have Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Deputy Director, PA to the Director, PA to the Assistant Deputy Director, Manager, Supervisor then the guy who does the
job. Now we wonder why there is no production yet half of the company is working on people instead of on production. In Zimbabwe, during Ian Smith's reign, he had one university and a lot of polytechnic colleges around the country. It made sure that it produced a lot of handsmen

As Africans, we have a lot of unproductive things we spend much time on. Imagine watching 4hrs+ of TV series per day. How much could we learn/do in that time frame? How many tutorial videos have you watched this year so as to learn a new skill or replenish an existing one?
How many TV series titles do you know if you are being honest with yourself? We are very good at plugging each other with movies and series. "Une ma movie here" is the question of the day. Rarely do you hear someone asking for tutorials.
We are all responsible and if we really need change, we need to consider this angle too. Yes entertainment is needed but in moderation. Same as gaming. If we channelled that effort to learning a skill or improving an existing, we would really be the best in our fields and craft.
