The construction of this tweet makes it seem like you want people who buy AR-15s (the most popular rifle in the country) to be in jail. Is that your intention, Governor?
The formulation of his tweet is that we should release weed users from jail and replace them with AR owners (or at least ones who buy through private sales) instead. It's a bizarre tweet.
Of course, Wolf supports more than just universal background checks. He has publicly said Pennsylvania should "restrict or eliminate semi-automatic weapons" which represent the vast majority of most commonly available firearms. audacy.com/kdkaradio/arti…
Wolf, like the interviewers who asked the question, appears to be completely clueless about what a "semi-automatic weapon" is but his publicly stated position is among the most radical ones out there.
Also, there is no "private sale loophole." Federal law was specifically designed and created to regulate commercial sales. This is like saying everyone who sells their used car is exploiting a "loophole" because they aren't subject to the same regulations as commercial dealers.

Chipman is addressing his time a Waco as an ATF agent. He says the picture circulating online which some claim is him standing in the ashes of the Waco compound is not a picture of him.
Chipman says he should not have said helicopters were shot down at Waco since that wasn't true. He claims he meant to say they were "forced down" by gun fire.
The first question from Senator Grassley (R., IA) to ATF nominee Chipman is about Hunter Biden's 2018 gun purchase. He is complaining the ATF hasn't turned over records to him.
David Chipman, President Biden's ATF nominee and current gun-control activist, is set to testify in today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. One Republican staffer tells me “people are going to go after him.”
The hearing begins at 10am eastern. Chipman is expected to start testifying around 10:45.
For context, a dollar a round for 9mm is about 4 times what it was in 2019. So, not great. I only bought and shot 1 box to avoid further depleting my fairly small stash.
Ammo supply is unlikely to return to normal anytime soon. I spoke with Winchester and Hornady, 2 leader ammo manufacturers, and they both have backlogs that stretch out over 2 years. thereload.com/manufacturers-…
“For those who shoot 9mm and 5.56 ammunition, which are both in high demand, it’s very uncertain how long it will be before people will consistently have ammunition readily available,” Winchester president Brett Flaugher told me. thereload.com/manufacturers-…
Jason Hornady, vice president of Hornady Manufacturing Company, told @TheReloadSite he isn't expecting a slowdown for upwards of two and a half years. That's how long his wait to fill back orders is. thereload.com/manufacturers-…
