Why has the debate on Israel/Palestine 🇮🇱🇵🇸 changed so rapidly? I spoke with Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges, and a number of other experts to find out why.
Just a few years ago, it would have been compeltely unthinkable that a member of Congress would start a speech by saying “I rise today in solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
Something is shifting. And quickly.
Meanwhile, Andrew Yang, who repeated the "we stand with Israel" line have witnessed overnight crashes in their polling. That one single decision might have cost him the job as mayor of NYC.
Noam Chomsky: “By now Israel’s internal racism has come under more scrutiny as well. With the veil of intense propaganda being lifted slowly, crucial US participation in 🇮🇱 crimes is also coming more clearly into view. With committed activism, that could have salutary effects.”
Chomsky also condemned Israel's "greater resort to violence and repression, moral degeneration, and drift to the racist right.”

This tweet's blowing up so I'm promoting my latest article. I spoke with Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges and others to figure out why the public conversation on Israel/Palestine has changed all of a sudden.
On hey, look at that. Only a few hours after the ceasefire, Israeli forces are storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque AGAIN! Reports are they're firing tear gas and rubber bullets.

(Thread) A new poll shows the world thinks the US is the greatest threat to democracy.
But this Western NGO is aiming to "defend democracy" against China by expanding NATO into the Pacific and by taking greater control over the net at home.
Even in key ally states like the UK, Israel and Canada, the public considers the US a much greater threat to democracy than Russia or China.
But the Alliance of Democracies, a US-funded NGO wants to save democracy by uniting like-minded nations.
The AoD's new conference featured such noted democrats as Venezuela's Juan Guaidó, who called for more sanctions and economic warfare against his country.
Meanwhile, war criminals like NATO boss Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Gen. HR McMaster worried that China was the real threat.
Please, and I cannot stress this enough, cancel any subscription you have to the New York Times (and tell them why you did it).
Israel only targets civlian infrastructure in Gaza. This whole thing was started off by an unprovoked attack on worshippers at the third holiest mosque in Islam during Ramadan.
Lol, this is how Brett "Bedbug" Stephens describes the police attack.
