Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly denies Lonnie Coffman pretrial release. He came to D.C. with a truck full of weapons, including nearly a dozen Molotov cocktails.

Here’s a link to the whole memorandum and order, read it yourself here:

Lonnie Coffman tried to show up to Ted Cruz’s home. A Cruz staffer said he was "unbalanced" and "not 100% there" but thought he "seemed to be coming from the 'friend' angle in wanting to... help with the election fraud he saw.”

Cruz “led the fight” against certification.
Had Ted Cruz ran into Lonnie Coffman under different circumstances, they might’ve had an interesting conversation!
As a reminder, Lonnie Coffman rolled up on a police perimeter — with two guns in his pocket! — and asked whether they found the bombs. (He apparently meant the RNC & DNC bombs rather than the Molotov cocktails in his truck.)
This graph almost reads like a subtweet of certain members of Congress.

Quick story. You may remember Taylor Michael Wilson, a white supremacist sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for an attack on an Amtrak train. huffpost.com/entry/neo-nazi…
Wilson attended the Unite the Right rally in Charleston, had a secret compartment with ammunition and white supremacist literature behind his fridge, and said during the attack that he wanted to “save the train from black people.” huffpost.com/entry/white-su…
It was a rare upfront, straightforward federal terrorism case against a domestic extremist, and it illustrated differences in the law / in the feds’ approach to domestic versus foreign terrorism. huffpost.com/entry/jeff-ses…

Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano — seen recently posing for a photo with a fellow Trump enthusiast on the FBI’s Capitol wanted list — claimed he and his wife never crossed the police line on Jan. 6. Let’s roll the tape: huffpost.com/entry/doug-mas… ImageImageImageImage
"Mastriano was wearing one of his campaign hats and a dark-green scarf on the day.” @JosieHarvey_: huffpost.com/entry/doug-mas…
Pennsylvania Sen. Doug Mastriano has issued a statement condemning something!

Is it the actions of his associate Samuel Lazar, the guy currently on the FBI wanted list because he’s on video assaulting cops on Jan. 6?

It is not. Guess he went in a different direction! ImageImageImageImage

Federal public defender for Shane Jenkins (Capitol defendant with the “MAMA TRIED” neck tattoo who was filmed smashing out a window with a tomahawk) argues the government hasn’t accurately portrayed Jenkins’ actions on Jan. 6, and say he tried to help an officer seized by crowd.
Jenkins is currently detained and arguing for release under strict conditions. His lawyers say he might end up being detained under harsh conditions "for longer than the typical time it would take for a criminal case to be completed.” 5/13 filing: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
The government, in this 5/18 filing, said Jenkins "believes he is justified in using physical violence to advance his political objectives” and pointed to his rhetoric comparing Jan. 6 to the American Revolution. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

NEW: A suspect on the FBI’s Capitol wanted list, who was caught on video battling with police, attended a Rudy Giuliani event last week, where he got a photo with a Trump-loving state senator who organized buses to D.C. on Jan. 6. #FacePaintBlowhard huffpost.com/entry/samuel-l…

Lazar battled with police over and over and over again on Jan. 6. He was at the front of the lines. Here’s just a sampling of his rhetoric:

Lawyers for detained Capitol defendants have been trying to make the case to judges that Jan. 6 was this one-off, unique moment and that there’s no longer an ongoing threat, and the former president just keeps gutting their argument.
Judges aren’t making detention decisions based on Trump’s rhetoric alone, but it certainly doesn’t help! More background in this great @ZoeTillman piece. buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Trump doesn’t have to actually put any skin in the game when he dashes off rants calling 2020 the "greatest Election Fraud in the history of our Country," but in additional to increasing the threat of another attack, he’s damaging the defenses of people who actually believed him.
