The zionists invaded SL mainly because it welcomed Palestinian refugees & espoused their cause & their resistance groups. The Southern Lebanese paid a heavy price which they maintain they're ready to pay again anytime in defense of the occupied lands & the oppressed Palestinians. 
Lebanon's many resistance factions including communists, Arab nationalists & Islamic resistance of all sects, achieved victory against imperialism together. On that day (& 2006) they proved even the "invincible army" could be humiliated through guerilla warfare of the righteous!
The defeat of zionist occupiers was due to armed resistance & armed resistance only. Imperial-backed colonizers can't defeat a people for whom martyrdom in defense of their land & the oppressed is an honor! We are free today through the blood of the freedom fighters, men & women.
Our victory is incomplete without that of the Palestinians. Through armed struggle, the only effective means of decolonization, they are already paving the way & will also live these liberating scenes & free the thousands of unjustly imprisoned generations of Palestinians soon.
