(1 of 5) As usual Glenn misses the point completely—and deliberately. From 2018 to 2020, there was coordinated Trump-Ukraine collusion—I wrote a 600-page bestseller on this, so I'm not spitballing—specifically designed to spread misinformation about the Bidens, Ukraine and China.
(2 of 5) Trump and his team knew they were working with Kremlin agents, knew they were spreading misinformation, and knew they were engaged in an effort to undermine U.S. elections. But they persisted because nothing mattered but Trump's ambitions. This posed a problem for media.
(3 of 5) *Trump's actions* created a situation in which coverage of what sliver of the Biden story had merit would *necessarily* feed a far larger—and wholly false—narrative Trump, his agents/allies/attorneys/associates/aides, *and the Kremlin* were trying to inject into America.
(4 of 5) There's universal agreement that foreign "boards" are corrupt attempts to influence—there's no news there, and Trump/journalists knew it. That Hunter acted in an ethically dubious way common in business/politics was clear. That Joe Biden was involved? A different story.
(5 of 5) *No one* in media *or* on Team Trump cared about Hunter. The *only* purpose of the story was to sling sh*t at Joe Biden—without evidence—by association. An association Biden couldn't avoid, as Hunter's his son. Media opted not to be used by Trump/the Kremlin in that way.
(PS) In case it's not clear, the evidence *Joe* Biden did anything wrong—when *even Giuliani's pro-Kremlin Ukrainian stooge, Yuri Lutsenko, issued a statement to media in mid-2020 saying he did nothing wrong*—was pathetic. The evidence on Trump, Ukraine, and Russia? Overwhelming.
(PS2) In that context, as @GGreenwald knows—and I think @RustyRockets would see outside an interview with an agenda-driven (yet self-proclaimed agendaless) revenue hound like Glenn—media focusing on Biden would be not just bothsidesism but putting a finger on the election scales.
(PS3) I'll add, as I neglected to focus on China here, that Trump and the FSB's bid to goad U.S. media into focusing on Joe Biden, Ukraine, and China came in the context of significant public *and* private intel (cf. Bolton, Pillsbury, &c) that Trump tried to collude with China.
(PS4) Like Glenn I spent my career—in my case as a public defender—opposing the government and defending individual rights. But it wasn't the CIA alone saying this was disinformation. Giuliani's own sources admitted they were playing politics and had nothing on Biden *or* Hunter.
(PS5) Otherwise, I agree with 85% of what Brand (@rustyrockets) says. I don't trust pols. Don't think intel agents are forthcoming. Don't like Big Tech algos. Don't like biased media. And I think government *really should* reflect our values. Glenn doesn't stand for these things.
(PS6) I appreciate the shout-out from Brand in the video Glenn linked to, and do believe (as he noted) that ethical curation of the data archive is key. I see Glenn as standing for a decontextualized ethical absolutism *only when it serves his agenda*—meaning it's not absolutism.
(PS7) Had someone said to me in mid-2019, "I'm writing a book of curatorial journalism on Joe/Hunter Biden's dealings in Ukraine and China," I'd have said "go for it—but you won't have enough material, as Ukraine says they did nothing wrong and the China evidence is even weaker."
(PS8) In Proof of Corruption (Macmillan, 2020), I ethically *run through* the claims on the Bidens. I bet Glenn doesn't know that—that my book *doesn't* ignore the allegations. But I couldn't find any substantiation for them, especially as all the accusers had by then *recanted*.
(PS9) Glenn's game is that on some level—in a decontextualized, vacuum-sealed way—what he's saying is right and fair and no one could disagree with it. The problem is that when you're an expert in the area he's talking about, you *instantly* see all the key info he's leaving out.

Hours media will spend today discussing a tragic shooting in San Jose that is identical—as a news story—to another such shooting we'll see tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that: 3

Hours media has EVER spent on the January 5 Trump International war council: 0

😡
(🔓) PROOF UNLOCKED: As a journalism professor, I've lectured at the university level on how "newsworthiness" is determined. US workplace shootings—almost without exception—fail the 10-step test. A PROOF lecture on the topic is now available to the public: sethabramson.substack.com/p/lecture-seri…
(MORE) The U.S. is a country of 332 million that has one mass shooting per day. Media spends 3+ hours on scores of such shootings annually, *instead* of doing new investigative reporting. This shooting is tragic and is news in Santa Clara County, CA. It's not newsworthy in Maine.

I hope everyone is aware that there's *literally no party in America* called the "Democrat Party"

Anyone using any phrase to identify the Democratic Party other than the one the Democratic Party uses—"Democratic Party"—is using a smear so stupid a four-year-old would blush at it
Imagine how unserious and impossible to engage with for any generative purpose the Democratic Party would be thought to be if every official in the party used a rank slur to describe Republicans every time they talked about them

America hasn't had a real 2-party system for years
Rush Limbaugh came up with this smear because he thought it'd make him extra coin on the radio, and the entire Republican Party was so replete with cowards afraid of Limbaugh's audience—this was before Donald Trump—that they *literally changed what they call the Democratic Party*

(🆚) THREAD: This thread contains all 3 parts of the recent exposé at PROOF. It focuses on Trump, the Oath Keepers, the Arizona "fraudit," the January 5 Trump International Hotel "war council," the Three Percenters, secession, and much more. Here's Part I. sethabramson.substack.com/p/major-new-re…
(🆚) 1: Below is Part II of a 3-part exposé at PROOF that covers key topics re: the January 6 insurrection which—inexplicably—aren't being covered elsewhere. The primary focus here is the cadre inside Trump's inner circle with ties to the insurrectionists. sethabramson.substack.com/p/major-new-re…
(🆚) 2: In Part III of the major January 6 exposé at PROOF, #KremlinCruz and Trump himself make an entrance in a big way, with the evidence here raising questions for the two men that they haven't answered—and that it's inconceivable they haven't answered. sethabramson.substack.com/p/major-new-re…

What many of us said all along is exactly what happened.
(PS) Chapter 1 of PROOF OF CORRUPTION (Macmillan, 2020) is literally titled "Manafort"
(PS2) How many times did I post on this feed the January 2018 NBC News story reporting that Trump believed *Paul Manafort* was the *one* person who might sink him? How many times did I say that the whole point of Trump's criminal obstruction was to shut Manafort up—and it worked?

BREAKING NEWS: Sitting Congresswoman Endorses Secession, Requiring Her Immediate Expulsion From Congress
(MORE) The Oregon counties Hannity wrote of are looking to illegally secede from Oregon and become part of Idaho. Greene's comment, were it about interstate secession, would itself warrant expulsion. But in mentioning Biden, she turns to secession from the Union that Biden leads.
(MORE) Marjorie Taylor Greene is secesh.

I said it—and don't apologize for it.

She was already an insurrectionist. She is now writing about discrete governmental units within the United States seceding from the Union that Biden leads *as well as* endorsing interstate secession.

This is why we need curatorial journalism: because everything covered today as "breaking news" about the timing of COVID-19 in Wuhan was reported in Proof of Corruption (Sept. 2020) in more detail...

...because major media already reported it in mid-2020. bbc.com/news/world-us-…
PS/ The idea that 2-3 lab workers in Wuhan may have gotten sick in November 2019—giving us shocking new insight into the movement of the virus through Wuhan—is absurd. Proof of Corruption cites at least 7 major-media reports from 2020 putting the virus in Wuhan pre-November 2019.
PS2/ I have no opinion whatsoever on whether COVID-19 came from a lab. I only know that if for some reason it *did* come from a lab, it was *prior to November 2019*—making anyone who got sick in the WIV in November 2019 *completely irrelevant* to the timeline of the virus spread.
