Next move: Citizen CEO will denounce the “journalism” of vice, attack media, does not acknowledge what they are doing as irresponsible & harmful publication of information before verification

i mean the original name of the app was *vigilante*, come on

on the one hand this is off-the-cuff equivalent of speech in Slack, on the other hand there's a difference between not wanting to be *labeled* as lynchers and, you know, effectively lynching and your CEO calling for a lynching, this is called OPTICS vice.com/en/article/y3d… Image

Superhuman Registration Act :: Billionaire Registration Act
"... the Billionaire Registration Act was passed into law in the United States enforcing the mandatory registration of billionaires with government. Supporters and critics debated the right of the individual versus the rights of society at large..."

if enough people keep peeing in the pool, maybe we should just close the pool

I just realized Google Docs documents have an R0 number for how likely they are to create more Google Docs docs.

This from thinking: "Should I just create a new gdoc?"
R0 <1: Gdoc will not spawn any docs. The doc will stay in Drive and nobody will be able to find it because Drive Search. Probably ideal case.

R0 == 1: A Gdoc spawns one & only one new Gdoc.

R0 > 1: A Gdoc will spawn multiple Gdocs and this is the hellhole we are living in.
("don't be dumb dan, anything that can make new things has an r0 number")

My psychiatrist loved doing telehealth and hoped he could keep doing it, said it worked great for most of his patients & he could spend more time with those who needed it most.
I just have a 4-6 week 20 minute checkin with him. It works great. Only option used to be a one hour appt at the hospital, excluding travel either way.
Also/tangent: normalize dentists who discreetly remind you that you can totally listen to your music during your appointment, extra points if they have spare headphones to borrow.

"It was a very specific weapon... frankly, we don't understand the physics behind it. It doesn't make sense. It shouldn't be possible."
"I said just give me the bottom line."
"The 2.4GHz and 5GHz range just don't exist anymore."
"I'm dumb, what does that mean?
"No more Wifi."
"No more Wifi."
"Yep. And no more Bluetooth, either."
"So Wifi and Bluetooth are being jammed?"
"Not really. Jamming means someone's sending a more powerful signal to overwhelm ours."
"But that's not what's happening."
"Right. Because there's no... there... to send a signal."
"OK, fine. So what do we do?"
"Well, we need to figure out if we can replace every single transceiver that uses those frequencies, or if they can be altered to use different ones. But that's not the worst thing."
