Yesterday, I had a guy write a long post on FB complaining about my article at Survival Blog about training for individual movement and setting up a secure overnight location.
He said "I want to be prepared, not be a soldier boy".
Let's chat about this.
1/
That's all well & good, but in a collapse or WROL situation, there will be no law enforcement and hence criminals will be roaming free.
People who haven't eaten in days will act very differently than they do today. Violently so.
2/
Thinking that preparedness is having a stockpile of food and few extra batteries is DANGEROUS.
The concept you want to envision is more like a Frontiersman of the early days.
He just wanted to homestead and grow his food & be left alone.
3/
But, he maintained the skills and tools to defend himself and his homestead.
He understood that to stay safe and free, he needed to conduct patrols, watch the roads around him, and be skilled at scouting.
He didn't rely on the goodness of others.
4/
I'm not saying you need to train to be at an SOF level, or plan on fighting every day.
On the contrary, I'm saying that learning and training on individual movement skills, scouting & patrolling, and low profile camping will help you AVOID having to fight anyone.
5/
Not training on these things is being unrealistic. We have to prepare for how the world WILL BE, not what we hope it will be.
Anyway, I hope this spurs some of you on.
Volume 2 of the Tactical Wisdom Series will focus on a few of these topics.

A short history lesson for @JohnCena and the Chinese Bots.
In 1928, the Republic of China was founded, encompassing mainland China and the outlying Island chains centered on Ilha Formosa, now known as Taiwan.
This is the flag they adopted:
1/
During WW2, the majority of that landmass, including the islands, was occupied by Japan, but ROC forces still fought throughout the war.
After the war, Mao Zedong led a communist revolution against the ROC. They sezied all of mainland China, dubbing themselves the PRC.
2/
The rebels never took the island territories around Formosa, and those lands were NEVER part of the PRC; they had ALWAYS remained in the custody of the ROC.
So, when the People's Republic of China tells you that Taiwan is a breakaway province, that's impossible.
3/
A few notes from Govenror Whitmer's press conference yesterday:
First, they proved the new lockdown is a SCAM.
Dr Khaldoun sated that cases per million have been going DOWN every day for 22 days.
Rising cases per million was the justification for the new lockdown.
1/
Both of those things cannot be true.
Next, if you have to use the term "safe & effective" before the word vaccine every single time, then I'm betting it's not nearly as safe or effective as you claim.
2/
Unemployment has been extended until March, but she now is asking the State Legislature to make Covid-19 unemployment benefits PERMANENT.
Yes, that's right, if you claim fear of COVID-19, you will be entitled to PERMANENT UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS if she gets her way.

I posted a photo on FB of me with @ScottPresler, announcing the clean up done in a Detroit neighborhood.
Immediately, one of my liberal friends had something to say about my having done it with Scott.
This brings something up...
1/
It should not matter ONE BIT who did the cleanup.
Not one bit.
It was an act of love done with a local church to prove that #BlackLivesMatter, rather than incessant virtue signaling on Social Media.
2/
The most vocal white liberal people speaking that #BlackLivesMatter and all that, would NEVER venture into any neighborhood off Outer Drive in Detroit.
NEVER.
But they're ready to condemn what we did, just because someone who vocally supports the President was there.
3/
We've got to stop with the arguments that Kamala Harris isn't a Natural Born Citizen & thus ineligible to be VP.
She was born in Oakland, California so she is a natural born citizen, regardless of her parent's status.
This argument hurts our cause... Let me explain.
1/
First, when you make that your main argument, you detract from all the reasons that she is a horrible candidate, like her history as AG, her positions on issues, and her documented lies.
Stick to issues, not identity.
We're better than they are.
2/
Second, as I just mentioned, it's the identity politics we all claim to hate.
When you say this, you're opening yourself up to leftists claims that your real objection is because she has brown skin.
Don't make it easy for them to discredit your position.
