Getting divorced?

Know someone who is?

These exercises will save you ⌛ and 💰

(Not financial/legal advice)

🧵
You need a mindset shift, then you need to take action across 5 areas.

The big mindset shift:

You used to include your spouse in your sense of self.

But now you need to think of yourself first, not them.

This is the greatest challenge.
5 areas you need support during this process.

Physical
Emotional
Mental
Spiritual
Financial

You need a plan for each area and a trusted advocate as well.

Divorce will probably beat you up more than anything you've ever faced.

Prepare accordingly.
Physical support during divorce includes:

Food
Shelter
Working out
Space to work
Managing who has access to common spaces when
Emotional aspects include

Planning for time alone
Time with friends
Time with family
Journaling
Mental aspects of divorce

How are you addressing feelings of self worth?

Are you seeking professional help from a therapist?

Using the right tools for the job makes you strong, not weak.
Spiritually, what are you doing to sustain yourself?

Dig in with your spiritual community and mentors.

Find people of your faith whom you admire who have walked through this.
Financially, you face both the short game and the long game.

It's complicated even were you at full strength- and you are not at full strength.

You probably need a lawyer.

Again, using the right tools means you are strong.
If you plan out all 5 areas, and find advocates for all 5, your divorce will be less awful than otherwise.
To rebuild confidence in yourself, you need to understand 'what went wrobg' as best you can.

If your divorce includes children, then find someone who went through divorce with kids.

When I was a new fighter, I'd dance all around my opponent, thinking I was confusing them so I could make the perfect attack!

No, I was just tiring myself out while they watched bemusedly as I ignored my defense.

Later I learned- he who controls the distance of the fight wins.
When you are dancing around your enemy, it *feels* like you are controlling the distance of the fight.

Not so.

Your (accurate) fear of being hit by your superior opponent is controlling the distance of the fight.
In my later fighting years I trained newbies.

We'd start with observing fights.

"Who is controlling the distance right now?"

Takes time to learn- but 90% of the time shows you who the winner will be.

Hi @ScottAdamsSays fans!

What I love most about Scott is he systematizes everything important. He removes the mystery.

I do the same thing with business systems.

Start with my book redbeardimpact.com

Then move on to my podcast redbeard.am
And for the VERY BEST @ScottAdamsSays book, go here:

(I know that's a tall claim. But just look at 2020. Understanding this book would have made you waaay less wrong.)

Video editing is roughly 10x more time consuming than audio editing.

You can use tools like @DescriptApp to make it easier.

@zencastr also can do automatic post production
If you are going with noise-leveling only, now video editing becomes easy and you can push to video simply.

Right now Red Beard Radio has a much higher audio quality standard due to riverwoodmedia.com 's painstaking work.

It takes 1 to 2 hours to perfect a 20 min audio.
@lane_com @JoshuaLisec see above-

So to go from audio only to video, I'd have to sacrifice high quality editing.

Which may be worth it for some.

But then also, you are now dealing w lighting and backgrounds and visual distractions.
