#Thread : Today It's more than 1.5 Century has passed for the great and prestigious Darul Uloom Deoband's foundation. Where the institution has given services on the religious, national and societal sphere & these Services are recognised and admired throughout the world.....1/n

Darul Uloom was established on 30 May 1866 about 155 years ago. It also produced many Unani medicine experts to this country & it's service in medical field is Appreciable.

This institution also made great efforts for India's Freedom.Let's remember their services for nation👇2/n

The political ideals of institution were founded up to ten years prior to its opening. In 1857 Imdadullah Muhajir Makki, Muhammad Qasim Nanautawi, Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi, Muhammad Yaqub Nanautawi and others gathered at Thana Bhawan to protest against British rule .... 3/n

& continue their call for the independence of India. The first phase of battle started from Thana bhavan with an attack on British soldiers followed by the Battle of Shamli, Khilafat movement, Khaksar movement and many more. 4/n

In 1913, Nanautavi's pupil, Mahmud al-Hasan was a leader in the independence movement. He incited revolution through a scheme which the Rowlatt committee called the Silken Letters. However, the scheme failed and al-Hasan and his followers were arrested and exiled. 5/n

History has rarely searched the role of ulema in nationalist movement. It is generally thought that ulema are incapable of coming up to nationalist aspirations, but Muslim ulema had played a pro-active role in the liberation of the country. 6/n

Their efforts might not have always yielded positive results, but their commitment had been exemplary.

Maulana Qasim Nanautawi, Maulana Mehmood-ul-hasan, Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi, Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani, to name a few, may specifically to be mentioned in this respect. 7/n

Unfortunately, these personalities couldn't secure a place for themselves in the history because the historian had more or less chosen to neglect them. 8/n

From the very beginning, leaders of Darul Uloom took concrete steps for the promotion and development of the art of Unani medicine which is an important part of Arabic sciences and arts. 9/n

After the revolution of 1857 (Indian Mutiny), the Darul Uloom Deoband was the only institution on the forefront to Promote and establish an Education system of Unani Medical Sciences. 10/n
