The greatest trick Nationalists have pulled is to fool Scots that they are progressive and for social justice. 1/
Rhiannon Spear, Ruth Wishart, Bella Caledonia, Patrick Harvie and other Nationalists are simply anti-English bigots masquerading as bold progressives. 2/
When your politics starts with saying 'our nation is better than yours', it creates a vicious cycle. You can only ever improve your poor self esteem by ramping up even more hatred of the other. /3
You can't argue for social justice when your heart is filled with hate for your fellow citizens. 4/
You can't get to social justice through Nationalism, because their dream of a nation is always more important than your reality as a citizen. 5/
Ask any Nationalist politican about their goals. It will always be 'independence' first. Alyn Smith: 'Equalities are close to my heart but not as close as independence.' /6 thescottishsun.co.uk/news/5903828/a…
Imagine a politician from any other party saying that. They would rightly be shunned and rejected. Yet no action was taken against him. Because *his party thinks the same way.* /7
Nicola Sturgeon: Independence 'transcends' Brexit, oil and the economy. Translation: My selfish dream is more important than your job, mortgage, pension or the social welfare of Scotland. 8/ heraldscotland.com/news/14749853.…
The trick is to say that they'll provide a better society *after* 'independence'. But they already have the tools to improve our society now. If they used them they'd simply show that devolution is working. And that will not do. /9
Instead they pay lip service to social justice and shift blame to Westminster for not giving them the 'levers' that they already have. /10
Nationalism is ALWAYS a dead end. All it does is give power to weak, incompetent and corrupt politicians who amplify grievance to create division and hate while pretending to care about social issues. /11
Nationalism is not about social justice. It's not about building 'a better nation'. It's about personal POWER. It's the same old divide-and-conquer strategy that we've seen time and time again across the ages. It's time Scots wised up and rejected the people who promote it. /end

What a sad place Scotland has become under these losers. When are we going to stop treating this as a joke and banish these bigots from normal society?
This casual bigotry should be called out for what it actually is: Smug Scottish Supremacism, driven by hate-filled bigots who comfortably think they're morally superior to their fellow citizens.
The woeful performance of the opposition in the 2021 election, and the Scottish Tories in particular, can be condensed into a single theme: They always fight the SNP on the SNP’s terms... 1/10
They call you a branch office: So you don’t deploy UK resources. You don't mention UK successes. In fact, you criticise the UK party. They win. 2/10
They call Boris bad. They make you ashamed of him. You don’t deploy him. Your base is demoralised. You don’t get on the TV. You don't lead the media. They win. 3/10
Alex Salmond's Alba party highlights that the only way to win in May is to vote for different parties on the constituencies and on the lists. Salmond's plan would result in a huge Separatist majority. So what can we do about it...?
On our side, if ordinary people are prepared to vote tactically to get rid of the SNP, why aren't the parties that are supposed to represent them not doing it? @DouglasRoss@AnasSarwar@WillieRennie need to STAND DOWN candidates that cannot win.
A ONE-TIME tactical voting alliance is a win-win for the major parties, and could result in up to 30 seats being taken from the SNP. Yet, the parties have given up. They are content to be the opposition. And, despite their claims, everyone knows they can't win on their own.
How Scottish journalists appease Nationalists: Exhibit A: @alexmassie
1. 'As always' = Let's start by condescending to our readers. Massie knows best. Submit to his wisdom. 2. Uses 'independence' when it's actually 'separation' and 'breaking up the UK'. Stop using Nationalist framing!
3. 'the respectable idea of independence'. Wut? Breaking up the UK is not a 'respectable' idea. It's a DESTRUCTIVE policy pushed by incompetent bigots, who have nothing better to offer than division and hate. Journalists should be ASHAMED to support it.
