What’s wild is that it’s seeming more and more likely the politically safe scenario is the acknowledgement and push for study of the #UAP phenomenon. Game out a couple alternatives:
1) The US comes out and says “Oh yeah sike those were ours!”
/1
In this scenario you have the US admitting to not only lying publicly, but admitting to potentially withholding technological advancements that have broader human implications as well.
This seems unwise and unforced in a political atmosphere where distrust is at ATHs.
/2
2) “These are advanced craft that originated in (Russia/China) and are beyond our capabilities”
Unlikely at a point of geopolitical tension around Taiwan / Belarus / Ukraine, why would the US willingly expose a defensive weakness and possibly panic the population?
/3
3) “These are advanced secret military craft created by a black budget program, and originated in the United States but now some of the technologies seem to be in the hands of other nation states”
Similar to before, does the risk outweigh the benefits?
/4
This scenario would suggest a different version of the post-nuclear Cold War that many would argue is currently underway. One driven by a quantum leap (pun intended) in military technology. But again is there a benefit to alerting to world to these advancements at this moment?
/5
There are plenty of other realistic scenarios that could play out w/ the upcoming #uapreport but w/ growing bipartisan support, it’s beginning to feel like admitting “there’s phenomenon we don’t understand, but need to” and making it a public convo is most politically safe.
