Now listening to second plea deal for J6 defendant Paul Hodgkins. His charges:

justice.gov/usao-dc/case-m…
“Took selfies” in the Capitol. There were prayers going on, MY GOD.

How is this real?
“He did not have permission to be there.” Hodgkins now explaining how he tried to help protester injured by rubber bullets fired by law enforcement during chaos.

He’s going to plead guilty to one count of obstruction of an official proceeding, a felony.
I explained the offense here. Just like in this instance, it’s DOJ attempt to add felony to misdemeanor case. Criminalizing political dissent in contradiction to the purpose of the 2002 post-Enron law.

LOL no matter how ridiculous this whole thing is, I’m laughing at all the J6 sedition hunters who’ll be very disappointed that most of these cases will be settled on glorified obstruction or trespassing charges.
Well, this is interesting. Despite initial estimates that damage to Capitol was around $30 million, court says damages are $1.4 million. I believe the higher figure has been cited repeatedly in DOJ charging docs.
Judge Moss sounds slightly sympathetic. He seems skeptical that this plea deal is fair, just my nonlegal observation. Urging lawyer and defendant to speak before final ruling.
Hodgkins will accept plea agreement. His sentence will be at judge's discretion but likely less than two years.

Reading through January 6 court docs and here's a gem from US DOJ: "It is true that one police officer lost his life (and more than a hundred officers were injured) in connection with the attack on the Capitol."

One. More. Time. If January 6 was as bad as they claim, why lie?
It is a motion to deny pre-trial release for a nonviolent offender and signed by the acting U.S. Attorney in D.C. Amazing.
Oh and by the way, it worked. This particular defendant is being held in solitary confinement conditions, denied bon, in the DC Deplorable Jail.

Listening to court hearing for J6 defendant. Federal prosecutor lying that the protest resulted in "several deaths." No correction by judge.
Here's the gist: DOJ rushed to arrest people, then petition for pre-trial detention. Now they ask judges for ANOTHER 60 day delay because they have so much evidence they can't pull it together. And government lawyers misleading courts about fatalities. Judges going along.
Tim Hale-Cusanelli is not charged of any violent crimes yet he has been behind bars since his arrest in January. justice.gov/usao-dc/case-m…

House hearing on January 6 commission. Rep. Bennie Thompson already lying that a police officer was killed in the "insurrection" and several others died. Again, if what happened at the Capitol was so unforgiveable and criminal, why do they lie about what happened?
Now @RepJohnKatko who voted to impeach Trump and negotiated with Democrats to craft this “fair” legislation urges his colleagues to put down their “swords” and vote for January 6 commission. Hope he has a primary candidate.
Another GOP impeacher @RepMeijer rises in support of commission. Let’s hope he’s a one-termer. Now @RepJoshG lies about Officer Sicknick but wants “facts.” LOL calls Oath Keepers “violent.”

You can watch @replouiegohmert floor speech from earlier today about the abusive January 6 investigation. On behalf of the people unjustly caught up in this manhunt, I want to thank him for speaking up for these detainees and their families.

A Reagan appointed judge just denied bond, including a $15 million offer, to two men charged with spraying Officer Sicknick. They are in solitary confinement in DC jail PRE-TRIAL. The men have no criminal record--the judge is litigating the case.

He's still preaching. Admits there is no risk of flight for either man but this is a crime of violence. Keep in mind, Tanios did not use the spray. "All good history" for both defendants. He's now arguing against himself but whatevs.
LOL they don't belong to a "radical right wing group," referring to Proud Boys. These people are political prisoners, straight up. "They helped with the breach of the Capitol."
