Mainstream media has spent days reporting on Israeli coalition talks without mentioning that the man slated to be new PM - Naftali Bennett - has bragged about "kill[ing] lots of Arabs"; and the #2 in Bennett's party - Ayalet Shaked - has called for genocide against Palestinians;
Referring to the above as "conservative" or "hardline" is normalizing Israeli apartheid & violence against Palestinians. There should be no coverage that doesn't mention & condemn the violent racism and ethno-national-religious supremacy embodied by Bennett and his party.
Don't applaud an Arab/Muslim party in the coalition without mentioning that one of the major obstacles to forming the coalition was the fact that the Jewish Israeli parties objected to the thought of an Arab party in the coalition.
Don't wonder what the ouster of Netanyahu may mean for the "peace process." That's plain ignorant. The answer is NOTHING. There has been NO Israeli leader or government that has halted Israel's colonization of Palestinian land - a necessary precondition for any "peace."
What is needed to affect the "peace process" is a bold, principled decision by states to sanction Israel. Only when Israel is denied the blanket impunity that has enabled its violent settler colonial project will change truly be on the horizon. Until then, civil society #BDS

#GazaUnderAttack
For anyone justifying Israel's murderous actions with "Israel has a right to defend itself":
1. Israel is not engaged in self-defense. Israel has imposed a punishing and deadly closure on Gaza for 15 years. This is collective punishment, illegal.
2. The Gaza closure, sometimes called "blockade" or "siege" is equivalent to an act of war. However, because Israel is the occupying power in Gaza and, therefore, legally responsible for the health and well-being of the population, we don't use the war paradigm.
3. Instead, this is classified as collective punishment & persecution of the people of Gaza. The first is a war crime, the second is a crime against humanity.
