Pride should be a lifetime event. Every day of every month is Pride Day and Pride Month.

Because the shame and the fear that make Pride necessary don't take the rest of the year off.

Remember guys, top, bottom, dom, sub, master, slave, whatever you are, you can and should be proud of who you are, of your whole humanity.

Pride is the opposite of shame, and we have been shamed for who we are, for way too long and by too many people.

Pride is about not being ashamed of yourself, of recognizing that you're a human being worth being treated as such. We all have an intrinsic human dignity that should be respected.

And as long as there's people who think the opposite, we will need Pride and we will have Pride.

So let's not do it to ourselves. Every single person reading this, don't do it to others and don't do it to yourself.

We already have enough of that in the world. Pride is about seeing treating ourselves as each other as human and we need to start by ourselves.

Let's do that.

Pride is not about being proud of being gay. Is about being proud of being you, when the world says being gay should make you ashamed of being you.

In a world that way too often says we as gays are less than human, pride is about affirming that we are not less than.

Pride is about recognizing yourself as a whole and worthy human being, including being gay, and having pride on that.

You are not less than because you're gay. Have never been. Will never be.

Pride is about saying that, loud and clear.

So in this pride, remember not to have shame on yourself. Celebrate your humanity as you are, precisely because the world says you shouldn't.

Remember that you, no matter who you are or what you are, are worthy.
