Turkey's President Erdogan has promised to save the country's seas from "sea snot," a slimy sludge that could endanger marine life and the fishing industry.

"Sea snot," or marine mucilage, forms when algae are overloaded with nutrients due to climate change and water pollution.

It was first discovered in Turkey in 2007, and also in the Aegean Sea near Greece.

The Sea of Marmara is an inland sea separating the Asiatic and European parts of Turkey.

It is connected to the Black Sea through the Bosphorus, a waterway also known as the Strait of Istanbul.

Fishermen traveling through the sea are prevented from working as the "sea snot" is clogging up their motors and nets.

Divers have reported a large number of fish and other species dying due to suffocation.

In nearby Folsom Lake, boat docks rested on dry land. Campers occupied dusty riverbanks farther north at Shasta Lake.

Last April, @yaledailynews reported that Yale Law professor, Amy Chua, would be stripped of teaching a class after allegations she had hosted parties and drank with students.

Chua told Insider there’s been tension since she supported Brett Kavanaugh.👇

At 97, Lily Ebert (tiktok.com/@lilyebert) is one of the oldest Jewish creators on TikTok. She is also a survivor of the Auschwitz death camp.
